Mythros Vs Wynncraft - Cubedcon

The Wynncraft Devs were speaking at CubedCon comparing the upcoming modded MMORPG Mythros and our very own Wynncraft. I obviously have a bias (GRIAN I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!) but I'll let you guys take a look and judge for yourself.

I wonder what will come out first, Gavel or Mythros. They all come out "soon"

 

Doesn't Mythros require mods or something?

I must say, Mythros really sounds like an interesting concept.

I probably won't be able to play it because of my shit pc, so ima stick to Dungeonrealms.
Just kidding, ofcourse i mean Wynncraft, dungeonrealms is, and will always be superior.

I'm hyped for both Mythros and Gavel xD

 

It requires a custom launcher for the modpack but it's supposed to be super easy to download and set up.
Personally, I'm really hyped for Gavel, and Mythros seems pretty cool too.

I'm just going to nitpick on the community AND my opinion.

First off, what Wynn showed was BEFORE the con. They had the trailer before, which isn't really good. Look at Nintendo. They had a great pre-game with the NWC and 3 DLC characters for Smash. They WON the first part of the debate. However, Mythros had more hype overall since everything that was great was shown AT the con. Mythros won the debate, Wynn had the good stuff though. Wynn didn't give much (which is okay, but its a con. You need to release more outside of the trailer!). Mythros gave tons 0f great info though, so they had more hype during it. Good job Wynn, but it wasn't perfect.

Second, the community. I was greatly annoyed by the community here. Its changed greatly, but pre-fourm wipe was not fun to see again here. Yeah, it was the content team being derpy, but it was just annoying for people who asked actual questions. It really was annoying, and I was flipping afterwords. BEFORE THE CON derpiness is okay. But during it, PLEASE let actual questions come in.

But mostly, the true loser of this WAS CUBEDCON. It was laggy, short, and not great. They really just made this worse than it actually was.

 

Both seem to be very interesting, and both can be compared greatly, but I think Wynn takes the cake here because it doesn't require mods like Mythros does, thus being much more playable. I'm not comfortable downloading all of these mods just to play on a server.

 

Been following mythros for a while (I think over a year now?) and I'm pretty freaking excited for it

Oh, also I think "modpack" isn't the right word for what mythros is, as it is just one massive multiplayer mod that the devs are working on, not a collection of public mods already out there
but even with that that, it looks like it'll feel more like a standalone game, just using minecraft as a framework of sorts ;D

 

Remember when everyone donated for the alpha 2 years ago that was supposedly going to be released in Spring? lol
