Today we will be talking about
(you guessed it!) Gavel, Gavel, and more Gavel!

Gavel Teaser Released!

A new teaser for Gavel has been released and really
riled players up! This teaser includes new cinema tics in quests,
a bit of the new texture pack-ified weapons, and many other things!


This teaser was originally supposed to be played during the stream but I guess
they changed their minds!

The teaser is responsible for most of the hype during this month! "Gavel Teaser Hype" is a thing now!

Hype Hindered? Stream Gone Wrong!


The stream that was originally thought to give players
vast amounts of hype gives the opposite effect.

Players are significantly less hyped when
Grian and Salted confirm that Gavel is not coming in September
and that players will have to wait another month or two.



As a result of this lack of hype,
a thread called "Gavel Memes" was created to
make fun of the pushed deadlines for Gavel.

How do you personally feel about the strong negative response given by the players concerning Gavel's moved release date?

I think it's annoying. People really dont realise that Gavel can't be made overnight. It kind of disappoints me that people event want a half-done Gavel over having to wait a few months.

Same thing as I tell everyone: Gavel is worth the wait, the reason we had to delay it is that we had no chance anyway. There was an oppertunity that came up which couldn't just be scrapped and forgotten.

Well I have been a builder since the second day of Gavel Week, which was a bit before Hallowynn 2014.
I work around 1-8 hours each day, and the only day I dont really work at all is when there is nothing for me to do, or just that I'm gone on vacation or something like that. I'm a slow worker and I like to go over things I make a few times before Grianreqing, which is why im only at 1100 karma.

In a few words, how would you describe the soundtrack in the upcoming Gavel Update?

The music of Gavel is a mix between upbeat and adventurous. It depends where you are in the province - you could be listening to some upbeat music when venturing through a forest, but when things get gloomy the music may become more serious.

Do you think the music will be better, worse, or the same as in Wynn?

I believe my skills as a composer have greatly improved since Wynn. There are a number of songs I did for Wynn that are just the same chord pattern throughout, but this isn't the case for Gavel. Most songs in Gavel also have a chorus melody which can be heard multiple times in a song, which makes it more memorable. This is something I hadn't quite grasped when making music for Wynn, where the melody in most songs never repeats (until the song loops, of course). I also had a tendency to go a bit overboard with melodies (a phenomenon Salted and I have dubbed the "Bass Solo of Death") and so some songs in Wynn are harder to memorize.

I'm very proud of the quality of the Gavel soundtrack compared to my previous works, but at the end of the day, it's down to the players - I can't decide whether they prefer Wynn or Gavel's music!

Out of all of your pieces, is your favorite music piece in Gavel or Wynn?

I really like "Adventure" by Salted. It was the very first song to be released back when the first trailer for Wynncraft came out, and because of that it's become one of my favourites. The Maltic theme is another personal favourite, because it has a chorus melody that repeats throughout the song, and the style of the song works well for both a town theme and also for exploring the province. As for Gavel, I don't think I can tell you yet, but I'll let you know once the update's out!

It doesn't matter that Gavel won't come out until October, I am still sooo hyped for this!!

 

im tired going through posts seeing "they said in the cubed con stream it wont come out in September". they said its UNLIKELY to come out in September.

 

It would have 0-2 Pictures every time.
