Frosted Fox

In the mountains behind the Auburn Festival, a lone fox sits. This fox is snow-colored and has glowing cyan eyes, unusual for a natural creature. It may just be an easter egg, but I'm wondering if it might have some connection to a secret, perhaps acting as a living key? I tried bringing it to the Autumnal Ruins lootrun location (not in a lootrun) but nothing happened, as I probably should have expected. If anyone knows anything, please share.
