Does player level affect mob item drops?

    Farming for morph-gold to make an easy lootrun build for a new class and cant help but notice that when farming it just wont drop, im using mob totems and loot% but it just wont drop. could this be because my player is so high level its decreasing the drops from lower level mobs?
