SPOILER Wynncraft Gave Me An Unrealistic Expectation Of How Often I Should Expect To Fall Through Floors

Discussion in 'Wynncraft' started by Panderift, Aug 11, 2026.

?

How often do you fall through a floor on the average week?

Wynncraft has fundamentally ruined my expectations of how buildings are supposed to work. Throughout the story, I’ve repeatedly been encouraged to jump onto something hanging from a ceiling whether it be a chandelier or a literal church bell or something equally ridiculous only to immediately drop through the floor like it was made of glass.

At this point, whenever I see a chandelier hanging from the ceiling, I don’t think “fancy lighting.” I think “OOOOO Secret Discovery"

The problem is that this happens so frequently throughout the story that I’ve started to assume this is a completely normal architectural feature. I genuinely have no idea how I’m supposed to play other games INCLUDING LIFE now without jumping on every chandelier I see just to check if the floor is going to give out beneath me.

    I present evidence the first:

I have been arrested multiple times climbing up church organs trying to jump on the bell because the Talor Crypt fellas taught me that's something that is socially acceptable now.

Rather than changing all of Wynncraft to make it more realistic, which is far too much work for the fantastic higher-ups at corporate, we should instead change real life to be more like wynncraft. My proposal is all basements must now have some sort of heavy object stationed on the ceiling of the floor above them allowing for easy access. This would help with the transparency and lead to a greater social awareness.

Furthermore, all property owners should be required to disclose whether jumping on their ceiling-mounted objects will:

    1. Cause you to fall into the basement,
    2. Reveal a secret passage,
    3. Start a boss fight,
    4. Get you arrested, or
    5. Kill you instantly.
    This is not unreasonable.

Wynncraft has already established the precedent.

I recently constructed a twenty-four story underground apartment building which I completely own. Only two stories are visible aboveground; you have to climb from the first story to the second story to access a convenient pile of anvils and other metallurgical equipment suspended on a rope which you can cut to break through the floor to the stories below. This is actually the only access method for every single level of the tower, as I neglected to install stairs. Local construction companies have to rebuild every floor several times per day. It's brutally expensive, but that's just the world nowadays.

Funnily enough that exact bell has killed me before

Like once or twice on a class I would do that discovery only for the game to disable all my spells and movement but not my fall damage, pretty much killing the player from dropping them several times before the bell reaches the ground

Well to be fair that's kind of what is expected to happen, it would be kinda funny if CT added something like this that doesn't have a hidden floor but just kills you with a "why did you think this was a good idea"

in all seriousness I imagine the floor breaking is because of age and wood rot and potentially sink holes or improper construction. Especially in areas like Wynn where some stuff would likely be of poorer construction and potentially be rather old. You also *are* wearing a lot of big fucking armor.

You should always check for green particles before jumping into floors or wrecking them in other ways.
