SPOILER Fruma character rating/ranking bc I was bored and yes

All based on personal opinions ofc, I'm curious of your takes as well
So well, straight to the point of this random and useless ranking (only includes major characters and very brief explainations; I can elaborate more if you ask; also I hope I havent forgot anybody lol)

The GOATs:
-Sui: best written character in all of wynncraft imo; her redemption arc is amazing, the way she overcomes difficulties seems very realistic and I felt sad for her, she undergoes changes and growth, and the Gikyo death and Majin palace guards scenes are incredibly badass and satisfying.
-Syndra: the MOTHER. Amazing leader and tactician, caring guardian figure for the leaves in the wind, turned against the crown and used the blessing's power to overcome the tyranny, never forgot about Elise, sacrificed herself for her goal and her family, shall I keep going?
-Mora: amazing brother both for Sui in the literal sense and the whole leaves; incredibly strong, great figher, extremely enjoyable person, ALWAYS ready to help and also sacrifices himself for the leaves.
-Zhiroak: "if this is what honor feels like, I don't want it anymore. My loyalty is to the people. If yours isn't, then our vectors no longer converge. I'm subtracting to your pact myself." And afterwards, without hesitation teams up with his former enemies and overworks himself to death for his people. When he was our enemy, he genuinely wanted to do what he thought was best, then immediately changed idea.

Almost GOAT level:
-Rex: I really liked her character and she's also brave, caring and badass, but lacks something special that the previously mentioned leaves members have. Though, her brother's story is also very sad and she is very resilient. Also I want to know her fate... She deserves to keep using her bow.
-Quill: honestly he's the Syndra of the Steel Feather. Maybe less brave, but he also is likely older and isn't blessed, he already does amazing work with his organization.
-Soosu: fundamentally she's a child and she had a very, very hard life that her pure heart didn't deserve. She takes very brave decisions by turning against the queen early on; depressing even, she was ready to die even if she is very bubbly and cheerful. However, even if just partly, she kinda is to blame for the situation in the Roughworks; even if she had good intentions and never wanted to be in that position.
-Elise: protect this woman at all costs. That's all I have to say. (Yeah even if she's dead)

Pretty good:
-Two: she bears the charm of mystery. She puts the balance of the realms before anything else, which probably is a good thing, but also is cynical towards the queen's wrongdoings to the people of Fruma. Controversial but interesting.
-Yusanu: he reninds me a lot of Maxie, which is a very good thing, and singlehandedly keeps the Steel Feather's infrastructure running, but maybe he shouldn't have kept hidden his agreement with Soosu, at least to Quill and his brothers?
-Zeph: sadly I'm biased because he reminds me of a person I know irl that isn't very pleasant. However, objectively, he is as brave as the rest of the leaves and also had to overcome difficult hardships. Never forgettong that moment where he says he always tries to smile even after the terrible torture by Gikyo.
-Yuman: his chill and laid-back attirude is admirable and fun, but can be annoying sometimes. He seems to know the balance between taking things lightly and seriously. Plus the Zeph+Yuman dynamic is fun and heartwarming.
-Rurie: he's hard to describe, he has an unpredictable and heroic personality that makes him unique. He's fun but I had a weird feeling I could never trust him fully.
-Azael: amazing leader for the Canopy, but also has a weird (albeit interesting) aura.

Cool:
-Her Majesty/Anathema: really the most controversial character. It's amazing that the beast of war herself tries to turn against her existence and dedicates her life to bring back balance between light and dark, yet... Her ways are very questionable. She can't fully eradicate her nature. She can't fully eradicate war inside of the fruman walls, because she is war afterall. Intentions may be good, but Fruma is still a harsh dictatorship that cannot be forgiven.
-Yulie: I mean yeah he's a cool guy. Doesn't show up much, sometimes he feels too serious, but cool nontheless I guess.

Meh/Forgettable:
-Tasim: (premise: I haven't played the alt route). I felt really betrayed by him. I get it, I know you have good intentions, but really, believing what the queen says without too much hesitation considering the circumstances and the past? Being blind to what the people in Fruma have to undergo? Not letting us explain properly about Aledar? The last parts in Apotheosis, WTP and the Bonfire conversation try to do him justice, but... Again, I felt betrayed by the man I wanted to save.
-Fuhue, Cileon, Jiro, Kaio: grouping them all together because they have a similar explaination. All of them are good guys with their own unique traits, but I mean, yeah, I feel they're rather forgettable/on the sidelines.

Fuck you:
-Majin: yes ok you studied and worked hard for what you are etc. But that doesn't mean you can't be a heartless cunt. "Oh look at me I'm the best", arrogant. Yeah you are aware of the importance of the balance of the realms, but you are rich and privileged snd bratty and you follow the queen because you like that. And probably also enjoys treating poor people bad.

YOU DESERVE TO BURN IN THE WORST SPOT OF THE WORST REGION OF THE WORST CONCEPT OF HELL THAT EXISTS:
-Gikyo: I don't care if he has a troubled past or anything else. He's evil period. He deserved to die an even worse death. He's the primary person responsible for the most of the leaves' hardships during the quest line. I was on thw verge of crying when he killed Mora in front of Sui. Continues to mock all the leaves during combat. Ew.

 

Yo what, what's wrong with Gikyo, they're the least dora like sovereign, and imo the best. Also they're like the only to use (grandma-level) "swear" words and insult the player I love Gikyo and am so sad they're dead.

 

I'm sorry, everybody has their own preferences and I get why he can be seen as cool, but personally I just felt pure evil from his words and his actions

 

I mean yeah, they're evil, but one's favorite character doesn't necessarily need to be the morally best character. Like for instance Darcy.

 

Fair, fair

 

I still need to do the last two(?) quests but I really stopped paying attention mid-mistwood and I read a good part of the dialogue to come on the wiki. So yeah

I don't much like the resistance groups. Too linear who fills which role and I can't really see them as characters and more as 'concepts' or something
I'd put Yusanu at the top of their list. Most likeable that wasn't written to be too likeable.
Soosu and Quick-Math-Man are probably my favourites. Soosu #1, QMM #2
Anathema and everyone who worked for her(/it?) and knew enough about the bs happening gets put to the bottom of the list
The Shapeshifter can rightfully burn in hell. He's the reason why I lost my last bit of interest in the story.
(Elise story into Soosu story into Shapeshifter bs)
Tasim can dip his toes in some hellfire too. If not that then at least step on a Lego brick every few days.
The Player gets a Lego every few weeks or so.
The Authors get a Lego everytime they forgot about the last one and sometimes just random so they'll never feel safe from it

Honestly these are also fair picks imo except for Mora down in C and D tier for the other side characters (aside from the Strong Survive which was a rather annoying quest and maybe Celebrations in Smoke, I found the side quests very cool especially the ones in Auburn)

Also, "that one guy who's also in the leaves" is so real, Kaio (I presume you're referring to him) is just there, he exists and complains about his back or something lmao

I personally enjoyed Fuhue and Cileon a lot, not everyone can be a main character
I haven't gotten the last Wicker's Spark cutscene to work yet, but Azael was just... kinda there. I don't know. They're fine I guess. I do appreciate that Gikyo's whole... Gikyo-ness can be interpreted as something other than incompetence (blessing quirk/quirk of shifting into unstable/dead people/general changeling instability)
Jiro could have been written better, I'm still not sure what his "festival excitement" is supposed to be indicative of... First playthrough thought that he might have been a mole but well. Two. You know. And also Soosu KNEW WHERE THEY WERE. That was such a terrible plan but oh well.
The Off the Rails cast were great. Zhiraok is my favorite character in all of Wynncraft. There's probably more but I forgot.

I think Soosu is self explanatory
Zhiroak is like Dora in that he can't see things directly in front of him (the assasin archetype with vanish experience).
Majinn also can't see anything directly in front of him.
Tasim I kind of forgot about ngl, but to be fair as a Wynn soldier, he does explore
Two I also forgot about but idk, she's not like Dora but she's also not dislike her in many ways. Plus she looked directly over us when we were right there.
Oru we know nothing about but for some reason I imagine him as a blue lizard with a dark black hooded cloak

 

Zhiroak in the beginning be like:

"Hmmm yes a massacre just happened in Torann and I'm giving all of myself trying to find the culprit... Syndra is suspiciously asking for another counterfeit passport? Yeah sure what could go wrong!"
Later: "YO WAIT A MINUTE-"

 

gikyo is None Binary with Left Beef

They do, but even if you did care, that doesn't forgive their actions, which are deliberate and a choice on their behalf. Gikyo is cruel and sadistic and it's in large part a product of the treatment of Changelings by the Crown and Fruma's society as a whole, but they are the one who chose to walk a path of sadism.

 

Oh yeah I forgot about Fuhue and Cileon. They look cool. I like them.

Azael is kind of Just There. All of the Canopy members are visually interesting but Azael is like, nothingburger. That is, of course, because most of the Mistwoods' act was cut for time; assuredly Azael will become an actually interesting character when we don't skip over the entire Wastelands plotline. I encountered Azael and Gikyo first through First Wicker's Spark and was looking forward to them being a freaky duo helping us out but they WEREN'T, URGH...

Jiro, why do you exist? What? Who are you? Do you have a personality? Do you do anything? Is there any justification for you having a portrait? Couldn't we have given your character traits to that other guy, the third one, you know him, I think he has an electric gun or something??
