Thanks @2BlocksUp for crafting this bow. I wanted to do something special for this god roll so I wrote a story. I need help coming up with a name, it needs to be 1 or 2 words, punchy maybe representing the thoughts/motivations of the characters in the story, or like an overarching concept. I also need lore text of it, maybe beautifully describing a moment in the story, or even like a ledger or redaction the Queen's guard could be cool. Also its a gun

The rain in the Mistwoods didn't fall; it hung in the air like a cold shroud, catching the final, bleeding rays of the setting sun. The thick canopy fractured the light into bruised streaks of orange and red, bleeding down the wet bark of the roots. Deep within a hollowed-out ironwood tree, this dying warmth collided with a harsher glow—the erratic, white-blue arc of a stolen Gendarme battery cell.

Taelen’s hands were shaking, but not from the cold. He held a standard-issue Imperial infantry rifle—the very weapon used by the Crown to "correct" his village. They had called it a relocation. They called the mass arrests an optimization of resources. But Taelen remembered the screams, and he remembered the day his sister’s name was simply erased from the provincial ledger, as if she had never drawn breath.

The military rifle was sleek, made of polished brass and cold, factory-stamped steel. It was designed to fire clean, orderly pulses of imperial electricity. Taelen hated it. He had spent weeks stripping away the polished plating, baring the dense ironwood casing beneath.

With a chipped flint knife, he carved.

He didn’t carve traditional runes of power. He carved names. The names of his neighbors. His mother. And finally, near the muzzle, his sister’s name: Mina. He routed the deep grooves directly into the rifle's structural frame, linking the physical wood to the volatile spiritual energy he had learned to command since fleeing into the woods. He was going to force this machine of state oppression to speak for the dead. He jammed the stolen Imperial Siphon-Core into the rifle’s belly. The brass groaned, and the rune-carved wood groaned louder as he forced the components together.

A heavy rhythmic thud crunched through the wet undergrowth outside. Through the heavy haze of the woods, a pair of Patrolling Constables passed through the smoke—but this was no normal, routine patrol. Behind them, a massive, towering silhouette tore through the mist.

    A Gendarme.

The elite soldier loomed, clad in pristine Citadel armor that hummed with advanced, terrifying energy. His visor glowed with an absolute, unfeeling authority. Taelen stepped out from the hollow tree into the mist. The lead Gendarme raised his steel, his grunt of warning distorted by a cold mechanical modulator.

Taelen answered by raising his own fractured monstrosity. He squeezed the heavy iron trigger.

The gun didn't fire. Instead, it hungered.

A deafening mechanical whine tore through the air as the internal Siphon-Core violently drank the spiritual pressure of the woods to prime the chamber. The carved names on the barrel flared blinding white. The delay felt like an eternity, and then, reality split open.

A solid, unyielding lance of white-hot, electrified ectoplasm erupted from the barrel. The beam held its shape in physical space for a full, agonizing second, anchoring itself directly into the Gendarme’s chest.

    Immediately, the current reversed.

The Siphon-Core acted as a terrifying cosmic vacuum, tearing the vital mana straight out of the Gendarme's core and forcing it backward down the beam. It flooded into Taelen’s body—an intoxicating, overwhelming torrent of raw, limit-breaking magical energy. But the weapon paid the price; the spiritual friction charred the ironwood from the inside out, and a deep fracture webbed across the name Mina. The gun hissed, its internal seals blowing out.

But Taelen had the energy he needed.

With a sweeping gesture, he unleashed a volatile sphere of thunderous energy that slammed into the Gendarme. The shockwave erupted upon impact, wrapping the towering soldier in localized, humming constraints of electricity. The Gendarme staggered, his heavy armor seizing under the coursing restraints.

Driven by the immense volume of stolen mana, Taelen’s body ascended into the misty canopy, suspended by a vortex of spiritual wind.

High above the patrol, Taelen leveled his breaking rifle. He channeled all of his being into a beautiful, desperate crescendo. A boundless, blinding torrent of wisps rained down from the sky—countless searing bolts of spiritual light chasing the target unerringly, detonating against the Gendarme's defenses. The sky above the Mistwoods turned to pure daylight.

The air ionized. The trees shook. Taelen dropped back to the muddy earth, gasping for breath, his veins burning from the magical burnout. The rifle in his hands was smoking, the ironwood split open down the center, held together by nothing but the desperate tension of its remaining metal brackets.

Slowly, the heavy smoke of the explosions began to settle.

Through the clearing haze, the towering silhouette moved. The Gendarme walked through the smoke, his outer armor scorched black and his energy shields crackling on the verge of collapse—but he was still standing. The Citadel's engineering had survived the onslaught. The Gendarme raised his massive greatsword, locking his visor onto the depleted rebel.

Taelen looked down at his broken rifle. He had given it everything, and the Crown remained unyielding. As the shadow of the soldier loomed over him, the terror faded. The roar of the battlefield went dead silent. Taelen closed his eyes, and his thoughts drifted away from the war, away from the Gendarme, returning simply to the quiet memory of his sister's smile.

Liked the story! Tried thinking up something but nothing quite sounded right. The alliteration "Mina's Myre" popped up in my head, and looking into it "mire" is a term for swampy, muddy ground, like a peatland, which does fit the environment but only about that.
Just about to end the comment and I thought- there's no name for the village, and was thinking maybe it could be based on that, which led to just using "village" and I got "The Villages Voracity". It fits the hungering theme the mana steal provides while tying into it sort of being the villages collective voice! Unsure on the actual wording. Having "the" in there feels a little silly but felt weird without it.
Anywho, was fun thinking bout! Excited to see if anything good comes up hehe~

I'm glad someone liked it! Thanks for your ideas! I ended up with something more mysterious for the lore text. Here's the final result: bowimage.png
