SPOILER Theory about We Two (AHC)... kind of. Spoiler for Ensemble of Hope.

EDIT: There's been some confusion about who this thread is discussing. When I say "We Two", I am NOT referring to Sovereign Two of Fruma, I am talking about ???. (Links are to wiki pages.)

This isn't gonna be super conclusive, but I noticed something... strange. Anyone who's done AHC (A Hunter's Calling) is familiar with the mysterious ??? NPC at the end of the road, who will be referred to as 'We Two' for the rest of the thread. (Because the only thing that hints at the nature of what they are is their final line in the quest, "We two, here... end.")

We Two's main ability is to offer 'ends' which show outcomes where things happened very differently. For anyone who's done Ensemble of Hope, this ability, nay, one might even call it a Blessing, may sound familiar. That's right. It seems, for one reason or another, that two mysterious NPCs, one of which refers to themselves as "We Two" and the other as "Two" have the exact same ability. Hmm, isn't that strange. I'm not suggesting that they're the same person, but it may answer some questions about the nature of either. Regardless, it's safe to say that Sovereign Two knows about We Two and (at least some) of what happened during AHC.

EDIT: I should make it clear that Sovereign Two's Blessing allows her to show possible futures, while We Two's shows alternate timelines. Despite the fact the abilities are not identical, I do believe there may be connection between the Two (hah! get it?) of them.

I'm unsure if We Two is actually working for Dern, it feels like they wouldn't have... helped(?) the player along, considering the player is distinctly Light-aligned.

Could We Two be working for Two? The other way around? Is We Two who Her Majesty emulated when Blessing Two? Is We Two the drifted remnant of whatever Sovereign Two is hinted to have destroyed in that one shard during Ensemble? Are AHC and We Two even canon? Who's to say? We Two's to say!

Alternatively, what if We Two is Sovereign Two's own reflection, and is keeping Fruma aware of the going-ons in SE? She had to find out that the player killed the Eye somehow.

However, I do have something I believe to be more likely. See, I found something weird about Two from the OST channel. Texilated said in a composer note (Here's the quote "You thought "The Right Choice" was her song? WRONG! Her main melody may have different instrumentation each measure, but it's always constant.") that The Right Choice, the theme that plays when Sovereign Two (but probably not, actually) appears in Queen's Recruit, isn't actually Two's theme. I checked, and as it would turn out the log is given by a character represented as ??-2. Very clever, two question marks and then a 2. But what if, what if this was actually somehow We Two (less like ??-2 and more like ??2, maybe) and The Right Choice is THEIR character song.

Guessing at the nature of this connection is something I could do all day, but I don't think we know enough about either of the Two (hah! get it?) to draw anything conclusive. That's all for today.

This feels like a deliberate misinterpretation of her for the sake of this theory alone.
No, her ability is not to offer you ends. Two is capable of viewing potentiality. It's stated in her dialogue, but with an amount of ... verbose mysticism to make it a bit unclear what she means. Two is able to see the potential consequences that actions have, and the "shards" she allows you to explore in Ensemble of Hope are just that - potentials.
The entire sequence with the broken mirrors and the one mirror you're able to pass through its meant to be representative of the branching paths of consequences. Each other mirror is another way things could potentially play out along this path.

Two serves Her Majesty, and is thus opposed to both Light and Dark. She actively critiques you in Ensemble of Hope for aiding the Light, explaining that it merely "plays divinity", and you are still servicing something that will bring the end of the world.

Her dialogue in this quest, and later on, makes it pretty clear that she's interested in the player potentially fulfilling the role that Her Majesty was currently/previously fulfilling, and the reason she lets you live is because she sees in the potential futures laid out before you one where you show promise.
To add more, at the end of Ensemble of Hope, she says that she doesn't care if you live or die, because both outcomes are fine, meaning that either Her Majesty killing you or you dethroning Her Majesty both go to service the goal of protecting the world.

It is heavily implied by Majin and by Two's dialogue in Overture to Despair that Two herself went to the Silent Expanse.

Overthinking it. It isn't her main theme, just as "Solemn Oath" isn't Zhiraok's main theme (his main theme is "Duty"). "The Right Choice" is just Two's 'ominous' theme.

 

This is talking about ??? NPC in A Hunter's Calling in the SILENT EXPANSE, who I refer to as "We Two" throughout the thread. I am very aware that SOVEREIGN TWO OF FRUMA's Blessing is very different, however, there are similarities.

I do see the connection there, I'd also like to point out that the Olm via Time Valley offer a similar experience where you observe a memory which you interact with. While the Olm more focus on having the player enter the past, I do think especially considering their connection to SE it's a bit interesting.

Idk if it's like a thing where Dern-related things just get to show the player alternate, past and potential futures. I may be extra stretching with this
