    It's straight-up actual gothic horror.

    Marital infidelity. The child's death, and what that does to the mother. Obsession. Transgression against society. A family's ruin. Got the classic setting, of course, but who cares about aesthetics. It's the themes that matter. And. Hollow Serenity has those.
