I never got much time on riftwalker before it was changed so i dont really know what changed, idk if theres anywhere where i can see the old skill tree for comparison. from what i can remember it looks like the ability to control your ice snake was changed to turn it into a tornado, and your teleport stacks build on you instead of the enemy your hitting? also, what about riftwalker made it need a rework? was it just outdated and not keeping up, or was the loop of it just not fun?

I think the reasoning should still be on the Fruma section of the Wynncraft site

The reason was that the main mechanic, winded, was tied to enemies. This made Riftwalker highly unbalanced depending on what enemies you were facing. If you were able to place a lot of winded across multiple enemies and those enemies survived for a while, it was great. If enemies died too fast to stack a lot of winded or you were fighting a single enemy, it often sucked. Replacing winded with distortion normalizes the balance of Riftwalker against all enemy groups.
