    Some quick questions about mounts.
    1. Does feeding them diffrent level materials make a difference (e.g. copper vs granite)
    2. Does feeding materials of diffrent rarity make a difference (1 star, 2 star, 3 star)
    3. Can breeding result in a worse horse?
    4. What is the maximum potential?
    5. Is the trough shared across classes, or class individual?
    6. To raise a horse's potential via breeding, do I have to max out the limit and skill levels, or just match potentials? Would I get better potantial if I maxed everything out?

I don't know all the answers to these questions, but I'll speak as to what I know.

    1. Based off what I've seen, feeding them higher level materials does boost the increase in stats they gain, though you can only feed them a higher level material if at least one of their stats meets or exceeds the level of the material. (eg, you need to have at least one stat at level 10 in order to feed them granite or any other level 10 material, same for 20, 30, and so on)
    2. The grade doesn't seem to matter, the boost is the same from what I've seen.
    5. The trough is shared across your account, if you take another character to the trough you can left click on the horse to get another whistle and it works across all your characters.

There is a forum of people trying to figure out some of the other questions so you can check there later to see if they have anything figured out if you want: https://forums.wynncraft.com/threads/mount-information-collection-thread.324089

Only answering the things that the guy above didnt (or adding more info)
    2. 99% sure stars dont matter.
    3. I believe it is possible
    4. I heard that there is no cap, but it has diminishing returns past lvl 100.
    6. You want to max the limit to actually increase the max, but the level doesnt matter too much aside from getting access to higher lvl feed to max the limits quicker.

I intend to answer all the questions in as greatest detail as I can.
    1. different level materials do make a difference and is well documented on the wiki/Horses. However the level of the mount must be >= lvl of the material. The level of the mount is the highest green stat, the one you train. (It should be noted the amounts gained from a material is the same for each lvl material, ex: copper gem gives 15 stat points and so does oak paper)

    2. This does not matter.

    3. Yes, and while I can't find a well documented source, I do know that the potential of the two breeding mounts must be roughly the same to get a favorable increase. The amount gained is pretty random however.
(it should be noted that the levels gained seem to be random in the range of [(STAT + STAT)/2, (STAT + STAT)] + some small random amount. so for example 2 horses with max of 30, if they are in the same potential range, will have somewhere between ( 30 to 60 ) + some number likely 0. Though the exact math and probabilities isn't found yet, and this applies to all stats, even how much you train or feed them)

    4. There is no max limit, but the gains are logarithmic which just means lvl 1 -> lvl 2 is a significant increase, and anything after will be increasingly less and less. I cannot confirm if lvl 100 gives diminishing returns or not. but I suppose you have to consider that each generation will require 2x more horses. so say gen 2 requires 4 horses to start, then gen 3 will require 8, and these have to be fed to breed.

    5. The trough is shared across classes but you cannot use a whistle on a class that is not high enough level to use it. like combat lvl 8 can't use horses until lvl 9.

    6. " Feeding time is determined by the mount's Average Limit (the sum of all 8 limit stats divided by 8, rounded up).
Once the Average Limit reaches 20 or higher, the mount becomes eligible for breeding. Please note that this limit is not rounded up; a value of 19.5 is insufficient, as a true minimum of 20 is required."

      - wiki/Horses

Essentially they must be fed to a minimum of an average of 20, which means (I believe) it gets easier to breed them the further along. Now I haven't tested this yet since I've been working on gen 1 horses for a long time. It may be the case that you have to feed them more and the minimum average increases, or is relative to the initial limits. Just going off the wiki, you may only need to feed the first generation, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
