    Hello Wynners!

To distract myself from [sad, unavoidable life event], and because I was persuaded by a friend doing the same, I've decided to try planting/gardening a bit this year :D
This is mainly an experiment to see if I can grow plants and actually keep them alive, but hey if it works out in the end, that means I'll get nice and fresh produce :)
So here's what I'm gonna try growing over the span of this year, from spring to autumn (with minimal research, going basically only off of what the seed packets say and what sliver of Common Sense™ I have):

    Spring-ish time:
-Tomatoes (one big and one little variety, which so far, are sprouting VERY nicely :D)
-Carrots (again, a normal sized, and a smaller variety)

    Late spring / summer-ish time:
    -Zucchini
-Watermelon (small ones of course, really excited to see how this one goes >:) )

    Fall-ish:
-Spinach (though I did plant a few experimental ones juuust to see what happens over spring)
-Raspberry (again, the ones I tried to start last fall got got :( )
    -Strawberry (wild)
-Blueberry (even though I don't like them lmao)
-Cranberry (will have to do some mathing, I'm starting some more of these in spring too since again, my first trial got got :') )
    -A few not-food flowers I got :D, maybe

Bonus crack one(s) that would be really cool but also really time consuming so I may or may not do:
-whole on cherry tree from seed (I love cherries :) )

Anyway! I posted this all here cause I wanted to see if anyone else is also gonna be growing stuff :o. Feel free to share any of your plants/gardening stuffs, or if you think any of the plants I'm gonna try are cool, or if you wanna see updates on how the plants are going- regardless of if it's just me yapping about plants or if anyone else joins in with theirs lol

    okcoobyeimayormaynotaddpicturesofthemiftheysurvive:')

    Update as of April 7th:
4/4 of the big tomato sprouts are doing VERY very well, especially the first one. I think he's gonna need his own pot soon.
2/4 of the little tomato sprouts remain, I lost one :( BUT hey I only wanted 2 plants of each so it worked out I guess :') and they seem to be doing pretty alright, not as enthusiastic as the big ones though lol.
Carrots: they were planted like last week. I think..? they're starting to sprout..? but I'll have to monitor them more than the tomatoes to really know.
Experimental spinach: mini, sudden heatwave came and put them permanently to sleep I think... Maybe ONE made it through but I highly doubt :') so uh we will wait until fall now lmao.
Experimental cranberries: seeds chillin in the fridge for about another month or so :)

We're actually scaling our garden back a bit this year, but the highlight (that I will highly recommend to anyone in a zone where they grow) is always sungold tomatoes.

For your cherry, you could try grafting on other stone fruits if it survives to make a frankentree. I've never done that before, but I did end up getting a 4-fruit stone fruit a year or two ago (apricot, plum, nectarine, and peach if I'm remembering correctly), which is super cool I think.

Ooooooooooooo those are really good :o. If the tomatoes I got this year grow well, I'll maybe add those ones and roma tomatoes into the mix for next time :D

Yesyes! I was looking (like 1 article and 1 youtube video lmao) into grafting and it seems like a neat thing to learn more about / try out. I would absolutely be down for some frankentree-ing, I just gotta... get trees to grow and... get more tree types to do shenanigans with. Ooo maybe a multi-cherry tree could be cool.. Uh, I'll probably have to wait till I get more experience first lol.
BUT OH MY GOD THAT TREE YOU GOT SOUNDS AMAZING! THAT'S SUCH A GOATED COMBO WOAAA :O

Asparagus is a lot of fun to watch go through its cycles and hilarious to have people ask "wait it actually just grows that way?"

I plant jalapeños, serrano, bird's eye chili, and heirloom long thin cayenne! My cayenne are my early bloomers this year :)

(I do well with peppers cause I can't remember to water them sometimes and apparently they love being left alone lol)

Hope you get a great harvest and especially good luck with the cranberries!
