They are hitting on Tasim in this Quest. Mr Bombs Man would like to gauge Tasim's romantic availability. Inane.

The lag is actually crippling. I cannot focus on all the cool cutscenes because LAG. RUINING THEM.

It sure is conspicuous that this Zhiraok guy keeps using mathematical terminology in grammatically unusual contexts.

Well, that's definitely an interesting ending to the first Fruma quest. The vibe is established very well. They're rich, powerful, and... deeply troubled. And we're fundamentally a footnote. Whatever games are going on here, we are not privy to them; we are not important to them. Queen's Recruit has an overwhelming vibe of pawns watching knights and rooks.

Aw yis. First try on TNT puzzle. (After scrapping it halfway through. No failures!)

Lot of conspiracy going on. I'm going to assume this is not just plot but a Theme.

So, ostensibly, I just killed every guard in Fort Torann and need to flee. Yet, every single shopkeep in it is completely A-OK with me being there, and there are two Constables at the door, also completely OK.

Those gates are spawning on top of each other and producing some insane... what's the word. They look bad.

It also feels very strange to me that you're allowed to freely use the Fruma Gate immediately. You are not allowed in here and it is heavily guarded.
    ________________________________
I like the exploration. Getting set loose immediately is fun. First place I discovered was a "Wellspring of Eternity", which immediately brought to mind the Fountain of Youth/Lazarus Pit thing. Looks to be imperial gardens.

...My DPS is terrible. Luckily I have insane sustain and also Teleport so I can skip the guards. Gardeners don't seem to care that I'm here.

Definitely is a source of immortality.

The Auburn Forest music has a vibe of "beautiful, dying empire". If it focused on a different section of the track, it could easily be the theme of the ruined, overgrown gardens.
    ________________________________
The lag makes this borderline unplayable.

...Droughts don't cause perpetual autumn. Is that a bad handwave, or is it secretly some element of the plot of Auburn?
    ________________________________
The description for the Frog Bog seems to imply that this area used to drain to the ocean and correspondingly that that Gate wasn't carved through mountain but rather constructed to block a pass... seemingly with no concern for hydrology.

I've definitely noticed how some Gathering levels have been bumped around. I'm pretty sure Dernic used to be level 110, so the fact that Maple is now implies that stuff's getting shuffled, or symmetries broken. And what's with the level 80 Bald Cypress? I can't investigate myself because my Woodcutting is only ~75 - I didn't bother grinding more during the 3xp weekends because Gathering is boring.

I like the Fruma portraits. Got used to them pretty quick. They're fun. Esp. the Queen's.

...but, the models are... eh. I don't like the models that much. Especially the first two Sovereigns, they look ridiculous. The artstyle dissonance and the exaggerated proportions do not do it for me. That's too jacked, I'm afraid, it looks wrong.

I think you're supposed to roleplay no being allowed / it being and so not approach these places until the quest officially "fix it" like when you get banned from a town during a quest (DND Rodoroc, wynnex Troms) cause else it'd be really annoying for a bunch of reasons to actually make the settlement innacessible

The lvl 80 trees in fruma give the normal lvl 80 (pine) materials. The lvl 100 trees in the highlands give sky wood.
These trees are different in name and appearance but give the material according to their level.

I came by and attacked the River trees with my axe and discovered this myself.

It's a strange decision... will this system be backported to earlier areas?

    Found Croaquim.

I'm going to try to locate all of the Secret Discoveries without using the wiki. The ''near" tag isn't super helpful, but Croaquim is fairly well-signposted. There's a door, it looks SDy.
    ________________________________
Immediately I get to ask Croaquin about Professor Eih. Obviously. I mean that's literally the first thought that popped into my head when I saw him.
    ________________________________
It's fairly obvious from the moment Croaquin mentions a mysterious employer at the start that the Fruman government is somehow involved. I'm going to hazard a guess that Croaquin is being used to root out outlaws, given that the world event I tried where I died fairly quick showed a Cursed Outlaw as being present in the bog. Croaquin scares people off, the Inquisitors ask him their descriptions, and so they can track Cursed and other criminals.

I do wonder where this guy came from. Born in a tar pit to a gender-ambiguous creator, who loved him (but the creator's colleagues didn't)...

"Pal, were you crooooakin' high or something?"
    >Uh, yeah.

Very happy with this dialogue option. It makes me worry that I'll miss tie-ins elsewhere due to having not completed (checks notes) Qira Hive and Temple of the Legends.

I've also been trying to find all secret discoveries without looking them up and actually the "near" tag is pretty useful IMO. Since the area where the tag displays "near" is a circle, if you find three different spots where it changes from "near" to "medium" you can pinpoint the exact location of the discovery (in the circle's center).

    Out and about in Fruma.

The lag is still a problem even though the server overload is gone, so I'm forced to conclude that it's because my computer is a potato. That's a bit hard to diagnose, although remembering to close Activity Monitor helps.

I could go install some performance mod, but doing that would require convincing Prism to work again. Which I'm not really up for.

I'm trying to circle around actually progressing or exploring until I get around to fixing the lag issue, which means I've been doing very little. Have run into some heavy-handed flavor NPCs discussing child abuse which I guess are there to illustrate that Zhiraok is the Good Sovereign.

Cleared off some old tabs and have a little less lag now. It's still noticeable, but maybe if I clean the remainder of the 200 tabs it'll all work.

I'm still getting single-digit FPS. Does anyone else have this problem?

Well, realistically, nobody will look here, given that it's a chainposting liveblog primarily.

Upon inspection, it seems that Minecraft, when logged into Wynn, oscillates between 90% and 170% CPU usage. I'm not sure how something can use more than 100% of my computer's CPU...

The clear conclusion is that Wynn, after Fruma update, just straight up is too information-dense to play on my computer. This machine isn't that bad! Is this issue fixable, or will I simply have to relegate Wynn to being another Second Desktop Game?

    Hey,
so there are different fixes and improvements I can give to you depending on the problem.

So you Wynncraft was always laggy or only since Fruma? Did you updated to 1.21.11?

Do you have mainly performance or network problems?

Can you watch streams or play other Onlinegames with a lot of network traffic?

If it’s only a Minecraft performance thing I can send you one of my optimized packs that is build for save performance and optimize resource and network sources on Wynn.

I should not be getting 3 FPS when doing literally anything in Wynn.

Based on observations from my should-have-been-like-five-minutes daily run today, it looks like whatever the big performance problem is, it's caused by mobs - I noticed horrible lag in Nivla, and my FPS jumped from 3 to 20 for a brief span when I was moving towards Ragni and had no nearby mobs. And it's not just Fruma mobs, it's everything, really. But also I had a lot of issues in Detlas???

Honestly, I don't think Heroes should have been thrown today. I mean, sure, April vacation for a lot of places, but the servers cannot handle it. More hype was not needed!! Fruma just released!!

As to the prior post - I'm playing in vanilla 1.21.4, had basically zero lag problems before the update, can run a vanilla singleplayer world fine, have some slowness issues with my computer but mainly when I've just woken it up (it seems to take a while to get everything processing; the machine is old and clogged with random programs and a very large number of tabs), don't watch streams or play other online games but I can hop on Hypixel quickly and run a round of disasters to see if there's an issue.

Okay, ran the round, was getting mainly 40-50 FPS with occasional spikes up to 60 and down to around 20. This is a game mode with a fair amount of random map alterations; as I played there was a tornado, constant TNT rain, lightning strikes following players, and Simon Says. So it's definitely an issue with Wynncraft specifically; everything else I do with this computer runs very playably (I can tolerate 30 FPS). It's possible that it's the servers, but I was continuing to attempt Fruma a few days ago when the servers were at their lowest usage since the update dropped (read: no queues, blue-highlighted server has 29 players on it), and I was still noticing annoying lag, although not crippling lag - about 10-20 FPS, I think?

The lag's a bit better today. I could survive Emerald Trail.

...strangely, I can't survive Llevigar. Which has no hostile mobs.

Is this some function of the presence of any mob at all, regardless of its hostility? Or, what?
    ________________________________
I was getting 5 FPS in Claim to Heroism (a combat focused gamemode). Mysteriously, reducing my render distance fixed it?? But I'm getting a little lag in the CtH lobby.

Maybe this was all me having my render distance too high. But... isn't Fruma supposed to be pretty? Shouldn't I want to, actually see it??

    Just tried out new horses.

    Fast.

I'll have to offload my old horse collection, most likely.

I don't like the micromanaginess. I have three mount slots, but it looks like base players only get one. Some sort of feeding timer? But... whatever. It's fun, if a little unimmersive, to pick up the various powerups as you ride - def. a better system than the old passive leveling.

My Chestnut horse that I kept on my Warrior alt was 35/35 in the old version. Now it's 70/105. A bit surprising. Seems the max for horses is 140; 105/3.5 =/= 140/4, but 105/3 = 140/4, which implies to me that the old dungeon buff has simply been removed entirely.

Still not going to bother with horse breeding.
