The WynnEx. Crystals

What happens to them? I get the yellow crystal from A, but it disappers at the start of B. The Blue from B disappers at the start of C. I'm assuming the same goes for red when I start D soon. What gives? Where are they going? I would never give it to those pesky excavators!

I think I have a couple in a miscellaneous bucket from doing /fixquests too much so feel free to take care of those because the game will not let me get rid of them

 

The in lore answer is that at the beginning of each quest , you bring the crystal to the excavator and give it to them so that they will allow you to get the next one

If you hold them outside of your inventory and leave the game, I believe they will be gone.

 

The crystals aren’t meant to stay in your inventory between the WynnExcavation quests. When the next part starts (B, C, etc.), the previous crystal is essentially counted as turned in or used for the quest progression, so it disappears. It’s just how the quest chain is designed, not a bug.

 

One follow up question about Wynnexcavation is the logistics of D. Like why is the King of Ragni there. Where was the lava he spoke of. And I loved the exiting into Ragni to a degree that is impossible to stress, but how did we get from Dernel to Ragni? My best guess is that after Amadel's fall I fainted, the King of Troms had like a change of heart, or the Iboju people came and investigated and found me, and eventually I was passed to troms and through the pigman ravines to ragni? But like why did I exit from Ragni's library's exit? Or maybe I just overanalyzed a video game that uses a game often said to be for children as a game engine. Why am I now still a Citizen of Troms? Was the king deposed? His only heir is gone so what then? Is Troms a republic like Rymek? Who was that gaurd that let me out of Troms? Was he executed? Was he actually working for WynnEx. or was he just a nice dude? Why did we need to help Thomas with the map frags if he already knew where to go? They already knew where the leaf crystal was, and they already had it- why did they need my help? Troms's King mentioned how his inner circle turned? What of them? Was Carlos evil? And Yavlis? What were the mercenaries sitting around doing? Or maybe it is supposed to be ambiguous, meaning I'm just asking the wrong questions.

 

Okay so I think a lot of this can be attributed to the quest being around 10 years old and being severely outdated regarding writing standards.

Nonetheless in order (won't say bad writing for every contrivance but know that's my main stance, as a wynnexcavation lover) :
- we get to ragni after a time skip / someone carried our unconscious body
- I think the lava is somewhere in the room we get tp'd in ? Else use you have to use your imagination I guess
- you exit from the library entrance room because that's were the only other doors in the ragni castle are (we know were the fruma passage door leads it's not the magic lava room)
- you're probably overanalyzing a very contrived quest yes but that's the fun of it x)
- they must have given you your citizen status back after you destroyed the archeologist cabal
- I'd say all of what happened is not public knowledge so no need to depose the king
-the political system of Wynn is very unclear and this is not the political map of wynncraft thread lol
- his only heir is training with the mercenaries he'll be fine

- very good question alas this it's the only time that inner circle and cabal are mentioned so we can only speculate
- there's a chance they are, I assume we'll get more information on this shadow society in an eventual wynnexcavation revamp
- it was a very secret thing, once again I'd be surprised many people know what transpired


All in all I think there's a lot of stuff in that quest you're supposed to fill in yourself but as Wynn's lore became more and more detailed and consequences started to feel real there's a lot in that quest that leaves you hanging.

 

WynnExcavation is one of those quests where you look at it and go "Ah, this is what they're going to rewrite from scratch, probably removing most of the original elements, when they finish making Fruma".
