Old wynncraft screenshots ?

Hello everyone,
I was wondering if anyone had old screenshots lying around for nostalgia and / or archival purposes.
By old screenshots I mean screenshots of anything that isn't on the map anymore / has been rebuilt, it has changed a lot over the years and I've always found it a bit sad (although completely understandable) that old content is basically lost forever.

I might try to find my own old screenshots and them here later but they're hard to dig up lmao.
So yeah thanks in advance to anyone contributing to my quest for nostalgia.

My idea of old is up to pre corkus tbh (cause that's when i started playing haha) gavel is more than ten years old at this point so pre gavel is really old to me lol.
Anyways you can find a lot on google but one of the reasons I started this thread is some are hard to find on there, like pre gavel reborn bucie bridge or other deleted nooks and crannies. So I thought a thread like this might be cool for archival purposes.

I've played since 2013, but surprisingly don't have a lot of screenshots older than 2020. I do have this though... from August 2020. Not sure what's going on in here.

I think it was, entirely different than vs. now.
In some ways, it was better; in a lot of ways, it was worse.

 

This is a difficult question to answer because you can't really judge old Wynncraft with the standards of actual video games like you can with modern Wynncraft.
Nowadays, Wynncraft is making a genuine attempt to stand out as its own MMO game in some really creative ways but back then, Wynncraft had a completely different idea in mind as it was more of a pet project of "what if Minecraft had MMO mechanics".

If we're judging it as a Minecraft server rather than a video game, then yes it was fun (speaking from my 2015-2016 Wynncraft experience, as that's when I first joined). It wasn't perfect of course, in fact 2014-era content from what I understand was pretty mid but it was still definitely good as a Minecraft server.

I think the very first hint that Wynncraft wanted to be something more than just a server was when they made a really cool armor system in 2016(I think?) where armors had actual models applied directly onto your skin. It was the first spark I saw of genuine creativity that I never saw in another server.

 

:( Looking at all of this makes me wish I cared to take pictures of Ye Olden Days (ya know, maybe on an ancient laptop buried away somewhere...).

I think my response is the same as what others have said (just shorter lmao) but, at least from the 2015 era, I was having fun! :'D

YES YES YES I DON'T THINK I'VE SEEN ANYONE ELSE MENTION THE CUSTOM ARMOR IT WAS SO COOL!! At one point in time I absolutely was making a build based on how cohesive it was aesthetically hehehe.

The custom armor system was genuinely really cool and I loved the unique designs they came up with for all the different armors, like the Leaf Armor for example. It was also a large reason of why Suspended Flowers was one of my favorite quests. Otherwise, the quest would be a generic boring fetch quest but it rewarded the Aerolia Boots which looked cool to me.

As I understand it, the reason the system was removed was because it worked by rapidly changing players' skins which put some degree of strain on Mojang's skin service and while Mojang never complained about it, it was... disrespectful, I suppose, to mess with Mojang's skin service so rapidly like that and if Wynncraft wanted to grow bigger and gain more players, it would only be a matter of time before Mojang got annoyed by it.
