Hey so, I have some heavy lag spikes when playing. But any other server or literally anything else I do with the internet has no issues. Is there something I can do to fix that? This is both on a vanilla client and using the Wynncraft Plus modpack from curseforge.

It's not even fps drops, pretty sure it's my connection. because I will be walking around fine, hitting stuff. and then usually I can tell that I am de-syncing because the music stops or starts to stutter. before eventually all playing at once as I catch back up.

Video for reference of what it is like. It happens right at the start and close to the end of the video. There will be times it is constantly as it is near the end of the video, with no breaks of a stable playing experience.

I have a similar issue. Even on vanilla, I get massive lagspikes every couple of seconds while just walking around.
Makes the game much less enjoyable, and I've died/almost died in combat several times due to it.

Similar experience over here - I have a higher-end gaming PC, yet my connect sometimes stutters or freezes for multiple seconds at a time. Fortunately, the extent of the issue is limited (mainly confined to Eldritch Outlook, Raids, Legendary Island, and especially Lootruns). My internet isn't all bad either, at least for a Canadien.

dont worry guys, ive had this same issue on a lower end. ive seen it to sometimes also be on the server side. too much server traffic, new updates, bugs, or more can affect this. what i woould reccomend although is to clear any other unnecesary tabs, make sure ur device is cool, and be patient. lag spikes will come and go., whether client or server side.

    good luck

pro tip, f3+3 opens the network graph, the bottom left corner shows your network latency as a graph, with min, max, and average latency as a number. that tends to be more indicative of the server's connection to you.

what you're describing sounds more like limited ram. if you're not familiar, google how to increase dedicated ram for minecraft.

Nope... I've dedicated roughly 10GB of DDR5 ram, alongside 5 cores of my CPU to playing Wynncraft via the Minecraft Launcher. It's been like this for several years, I've just accepted that it'll always be somewhat difficult to play.

i'm not actually that familiar, but i did hear that there is such a thing as too much ram for minecraft; maybe try dropping it down slightly? Also, what other basic troubleshooting have you tried?

Well, I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Minecraft Launcher, playing Wynncraft with and without various mods (Wynntils allows mod customization within it), and joining Wynncraft from multiple different ip addresses (mainly play.wynncraft.com and eu.wynncraft.com. I live closer to the East Coast, so I gave the European ip a try). Not much else I can do besides all of that.

you have the typical suite of performance mods (sodium, culling, etc.) , i'm guessing? does the lag only happen in wynncraft? have you tried stressing minecraft out in a singleplayer world? try running the game with task manager open, whats your pc's performance like?

Using Bobby can also cause memory leaks, and when's the last time you restarted your computer?

I currently use Optifine alongside Wynntils. I've done multiple SMPs with friends on modded Minecraft servers - I've had no issues with lag or performance on my end. Task Manager shows no abnormalities while running Wynncraft.

I don't use Bobby. I restart my computer once a day (usually in the evening hours).

optifine? in the year of our lord 2026? strange choice, maybe consider switching to the modern optimization mods; they come separately but the performance has way outperformed optifine, from personal experience.

I've used Optifine for the past 7 years or so and it has done wonders for me. If you could list some of the more modern performance mods, it would be much appreciated. Unfortunately, I have a feeling that the lag is more of a connection issue than a hardware one.
