Why am I getting 24k ms ping?

Majority of the time, there really isn't any issue, but every so often, my game suddenly spikes up to a couple thousand ms ping. Usually it happens when I'm casting spells or fighting a boss, but it's so annoying and making wynn borderline unplayable. My computer is fine and my internet is stable + good, but it's just wynncraft for some reason that has this problem. If this is supposed to be in the bug report, then my bad, as this is my first post on here, but I'm just hoping that someone might know a reason why it's happening or if there's a fix.

Edit: I'm only using Sodium and Wynntils in terms of mods, which I know other people who only use those mods, but it's still causing this issue

 

Have you tried giving minecraft more RAM? Lowering graphics settings? If it's a laptop, have you tried puttig it on a breathable surface or on top of a laptop fan?
