    Hey guys,

I have played the other classes, I have a lvl 105 archer, 87 warrior, and some others. I wanted to try Acolyte Shaman, since I like the concept of both healing and doing damage, but I am struggling.

How do you guys keep dealing damage and surviving when you lose your totem every time you pick up your potion or any other slot? That’s been a real hurdle for me. Do you just need to click fast?

How do you survive generating blood pool? I nearly die just from soaking up blood from myself. Is a high HPR build recommended? Please let me know what I could be doing wrong.

you kinda really do just drain hp pool and cast aura to heal, p sure that should sustain you? common mobs- maybe even the stronger grind spot mobs should die pretty fast with shamans higher base dps, no? if not maybe upgrade weapon?

I'm assuming you're playing early-game with acolyte, it could be a little tricky since you constantly lose health while being one of the most fragile classes in the game. I'd recommend going summoner early-game then you can switch to acolyte later on.

Acolyte should net you positive healing, unless you have a very negative Healing efficiency% stat or you spam aura too much and didn't wait for the rebound (This is really important, and I see a lot of people mess this up, do not spam aura, wait for it to rebound so you get healing from it twice)

Once you get to a certain point in acolyte with enough abilities/tomes/aspects, you can just heal so much that you don't need potions anymore, so you'll be on your main weapon slot almost 100% of the time.

In the meantime, if you're uncomfortable playing with the blood pool drain, you can try playing Flaming Tongue spam. Just get Flaming Tongue + Lashing Lance, throw your totem out to the enemy, play outside the totem, and spam Flaming Tongue. It's a very strong ability especially if you have the Aspect for it, even at level 1.

Thank you so much for your responses! Yes, I am playing early game, havent gotten to the higher levels with Shaman yet. Flaming tongue spam definitely helps, thank you for suggesting it. By aura rebounding you mean it having enough Blood pool? I might switch to summoner and play Acolyte later:) Thats what I did with Archer too anyways. I liked Boltslinger for the speed and auto aim, but then switched to Trapper for AOE

the ability right after sacrificial shrine is called rebound. when you cast aura, it goes out from your totem, with rebound, after the aura reaches its range limit, it reverses and re-converges on the totem, the rebound. the rebound takes time but does healing and damage. so in a perfect situation, you plop down totem, cast aura, and you'll get 2 bursts of healing/damage. the caveat is that it takes time for aura to travel, so if you cast aura while the previous cast of aura is traveling, it cancels out and you lose on potential healing/damage
