This is honestly a great response, and I do believe this does warrant an apology from me. It's still a somewhat of a bitter pill to swallow with some of these features still remaining, but the justification given here feels more than adequate. Although I am still opposed to the stuff like AP Loans, I do appreciate the soft-revert on class slots (6 were available prior to this update) and the nerf to loaned APs. However much this might be playing devil's advocate with P2W, Wynncraft is one of the Minecraft servers that has the most justification, especially with the very frugal lifestyle of Salted, along with all of these amazing models and world associated with this server. I do have faith that the staff now have the knowledge and ability to roll out (at the very worst) ethical P2W stuff without it leaving a large negative mark on the server.

Its nice that we got some transparency, but amongst all those we still didnt see the "comparison" of silverbull sub now vs post-update.

    Share Prices

Some of you noticed that Shares are now a little more expensive than before. That is our fault for not being very clear about it. The reason being is that the current in-game Silverbull store used to give about 25% less value than the real-money store. Now that the prices are 1:1, we’ve shifted this towards the price of Shares rather than the packages. In most cases the Shares end up slightly more valuable despite the higher price, here’s a breakdown from Shadow on our Discord:

    Current:
    Combat: 3 for 1 share (5)
    Prof xp: 3 for 1 share (5)
    Prof speed: 3 for 1 share (5)
    Shout: 8 for 1 share (5)
    Loot: 4 for 1 share (5)
    Item: 4 for 1 share (5)
    Dungeon: 5 for 1 share (5)
    Scroll charge: 7 for 1 share (5)
    Ingredient: 6 for 1 share (5)
    Party: 15 for 1 share (5)

    New:
Combat: 4 for 6 shares (buff)
Prof xp: 4 for 5 shares (buff)
Prof speed: 4 for 6 shares (buff)
Shout: 10 for 6 shares (buff)
Loot: 6 for 5 shares (buff)
Item: 4 for 6 shares (nerf)
Dungeon: 6 for 5 shares (buff)
Scroll charge: 8 for 5 shares (buff)
Ingredient: 6 for 5 shares (stays the same)
Party: 12 for 4 shares (stays the same)

Feels like it was left out on purpose. Considering that most people primarly use shares for said sub, It resutls in shares ending up slightly *less* valuable to regular players.

Thank you for your response. The P2W stuff really needs to be changed though.

I'm speaking as someone who has already bought CHAMPION and a whole bunch of stuff from the store and hass been playing Wynn since it got announced on CragedMovie.

This really doesn't affect me but it does for a lot of players.

Excellent post, I appreciate reverting on the class slot change, while keeping the other changes and acknowledging awareness of the key potential pitfalls to watch for.

    Hello Mr. Yacht Guy. /s

I really enjoy this server you are running. It is by far the most Computergame i have played. (Not Minecraft in general - just WYNNCRAFT!!). I understand that you all cant work for free and I would acctually like to give you some of my money to continue this beatifull thing you are building. When i bought my rank I bought it for the perks sure, but also it was a good feeling knowing the money would go (-3% and Tax and adult stuff) to you and your team. Worth every penny for that reason in retrospect. When I see the new monetisations you are introducing I do not feel the same way. Me personally I want to support you because I want to support the server. And it just doesnt feel right to see mechanics that cost money, that can easily boost your rewards. This is Pay To Win. I see the need for monetisation and that is fine. But i feel sad knowing people can just buy things I have to work really hard for. In an Ideal world I would be able to see who paid for their items and who bought them(direktly or indirectly). Any kind of buyable progression is bad imo, but i can cope with a smaller amount. What you are still planning to release is still to much imo. Paying for cool cosmetics, random gadets and fun stuff is tottally fine by me. For me personally the best part of the update, is the abillity to pet my pets.

Nice. This was my biggest issue and the one I truly cared about even if I'm not affected by it, so I'm glad it got reversed.
No clue what Minecraft is now capable of, but seeing what has been done lately, I'm expecting new really flashy visual effects systems. I've never really cared about attack effects anyways so it is fine, specially if it is going to be replaced by a much cooler effects system.
I say let them cook here, they might actually end up making some really cool stuff to replace the attack effects.

I think the class slots statistics are an important piece of information for why the decision was made, but I think it's important not to always make decisions based on numbers, but based on what will the community think and feel about it. Having a moral sense of right and wrong. I think Wynncraft is not only the biggest MMO in Minecraft, but also one of the biggest out there that is completely free. Removing the slots hurt the brand more, since it gives the message that one day Wynncraft will become fully paid. Even if people don't use all class slots, they should have the class slots to try every class if they wanted to.

If you need ways of monetization, you'd be surprised how useful the community will be at coming up with ideas, that by coming from the community themselves will be less resistant to those changes rather than making a decision the community doesn't understands and without any explanation... As well, making community polls giving the community the final say before making a decision can be super useful too. So use the power of democracy more often! Transparency is always a last resource card and a position nobody wants to be put into, if only other ways of connecting with the community had been in place sooner...

Splitting shares is interesting, but since it's the first time you're doing it, there should have been provided more information about that. Most people don't have the financial knowledge that these can be positive, although there are consequences too for splitting shares such as confusion or signaling economic distress from the game. Since most of the update was about wynn's monetization, you can't blame people putting one and one and thinking the game was financially struggling.

I would hope that by you setting the example, Salted, that others in the CT also feel they owe explanations to the community, since it seems they love blaming the player for playing "their" game when it's also "ours". If you have no idea what I'm talking about, go watch Sugo's video about the CT clearly needing a restructuring so decisions are more interdisciplinary and less unilateral. But what I'd like the most is for them to fix their attitude issues, acting condescending about their rebalances and blaming us players for complaining, yet weeks later they revert the changes, yet all that energy we wasted and distress caused to us doesn't goes away, and has in a big way contributed to the toxicity in the community...

Thank you for taking feedback and making changes. And thank you for the transparency; it gives a much better window into why changes are made. I'm really happy to see how many people are actually paid employees and that the server really has grown that much. I still have my issues with some of the monetization here, but it's far less offensive seeing the data behind why these changes were made.

This transparency and explaining is incredibly appreciated and I'm grateful to you for sharing your reasoning! I do also wish things like the character slots were explained beforehand, but better late than never as they say, genuinely. May this beta be a good one!
