How to finish the Hero of Gavel quest?

SPOILER ALERT: LVL 99 QUEST

Hello,

I am currently in the process of completing the Hero of Gavel quest. However, while I was in Siegfried's airship, I did not pick up the rope from the upper level, and therefore now that I am in the later stage, I cannot craft the parachute. Going back to the airship does not allow me to go back and get the rope again, it just teleports me to the cave. What should I do?

 

I forget if there's another solution that allows you to save Gurix (I think you can make boots?) If not, then you're going to have to leave him to die and find a solution for yourself
