Art the DEFINITIVE Qira redesign for Wartorn Project

    This is a copy and paste from my tumblr so here goes since it been months long project if you count the other iteration of Qira redesign I did. I would say this is THE defintitive qira redesign unless more info is out.

    This is a part of Qira redesign I did for wartorn project, Qira proably one of the most dislike part about wynncraft so this is going to be a long process of redesigning her and everything about her. I already discuss which draft sound better with other people but I Just want tos hwo my progress. Also the reason I don't really like Qira is that despite all that she got, she still feeel so undercook and she got so many idea that did not bother to be explain in the game. Even worse that she feel like one of those cheap OC than a creation to be part of wynncraft world due to how she interact with the world. So yeah not big fan.

    Concept A: Olmic

    Qira is an olm who manages to escape the attack on the city into Gavel Province through the last ditch of teleportation. She would use her mastery over many kinds of magic to create constructs,weapons, and even armies in preparation to fight back the forces that destroy her home. Concept B: Demonologist

    Qira is an unknown soccerers who caught a glimpse of what is actually going on behind the world and decides to contact the 5 arch demons to make a deal with them. She would use the deal that she made to start a cult in order to create powerful individuals that could save the world from the War of the Realms including making gears and constructs for them. Concept C: Spider

    Qira is a primordial spider monster that once worshiped in the spider temple in the Llevigar plains. Now she uses her elemental silks and her children to mend rifts created by colossus together in the canyon to ensure the canyon would not fall apart just like sky islands. Her servants are the people of the canyon that choose to settle near her and become her followers.

    And here is the final product with me talking about it.

    "In the uncharted region of Canyon of the Lost, there is a sorceress of unknown origin that is feared by many across the province. Nobody knows who she is or where she came from, the name she only goes by is Qira. Many rumours of her dark experiment with use of forbidden and alien magic to create monstrosity of creatures and artifacts for unknown purpose along with her servants. Those who are fortunate enough to enter her domain are the adventurers worthy enough to challenge her creations yet few ever walk out alive."

    In this rewrite I still want her spieces to stay mysterious TO the people in the world, not the players. There are many hints toward the idea of qira being olm such as the structure and her use of cosmic magic. I been sitting on this idea for a long long time which is why it came out faster than expected lol. Also if I have my way, I also want to rewrite The Qira's Hive quest to be less about the challenge(It will be treat like Legendary Island challenges) and more about Qira and everything surrounded her. I can imagine the premise being the player being send by the dwarves to investigate about Qira by entering her domain only to get detected but you manage to peak Qira's intrest enough that she allow you to go on trial to prove you are worthy of ENTERING her domain and challenge her creations. It could be a chance for other characters to get more spotlight and introduction as well which I will show down later.

Erratic yet controlled, fast yet precise. Thunderforged makes for a perfect guard dog to chase away any unworthy travelers that dare to enter its mistress’ domain."

    This is replacement for Psychomancer for various reasons. One of the reason I can tell is that Psychomancer just feel like just there more than any cast members and I just could not salvage him to be anything intresting beyond just a joke. It even hard to get thunder themed out of him beside him being crazy fast and that it.

    So I just remove him and replace him with something else with more intresting concept and idea to explore with some detail to pay homage to. I am pretty happy of how it look espically. Its role of being guard dog for Qira's domain would make it the first thing player encounter when they do the the Qira's hive quest. I can imagine it ambush the player and have little fight with them before Qira stop it where it retreat back to its station. I don't see it as much as character but to show how advance Qira is compare to everyone in the world to the point she could take what a lot of characters consider as peak technology in their time and she just improve upon it to be her guard dog.

    "The sky above Qira’s sanctum contributes to the fear of the people of Gavel for the mistress. Little did they know that the sky that they see is a powerful spirit of the dead by the name of Gale. Empowered with the use of soul magic after being taken under Qira’s care, she uses her power to protect the domain of her mistress from any intruders from the sky and alert Qira what is happening in the canyon. However her tendency for silly pranks and antics may prove too much, much to her master’s dismay."

    Honestly I think Gale is pretty good for what she is currently. Probably the best thing out of Qira content however one issue I have with her is.... There literally not much substantial different between her and other ghosts in wynncraft. Like she just a ghost who just really good at fighting that all from what I recall. Also have a lover but we won't be touching that and it will stay the same. In this take Gale is exploration to the idea of ghosts capable of being this powerful spirits that rival even demons(Not Garaheth, he is arch demon). Just imagine Qira putting on her ghost steroid by empowering her through soul magic by making her consume souls or something similar. Where she become so powerful she literally can become sky above Qira's sanctum and act as its sky guardian and Qira's eye. Her silly goober antics still kept intact and enchance though, so no fear of that. There even discussion I have wtih friends about how she sometime project scary skull above her mistress' place to make people shit their pant and believe Qira is fucking evil witch that brewing scheme to unleash great evil upon the world. Also fun tidbits, in this take she sometime just fuck with Bantisu temple monks by pretending to be the wind itself which cause them to refer the wind as female pronoun.

    Imagine entering Qira's place and only to be greet by Gale yet you do not see her until she tell you to look up lol.

    "Despite the mastery over all kinds of magic, the world still offers interest to the mistress. The power of the colossi is something unfamiliar to her or even to her people. Believing this to be something that could take down the darkness that took her home, she decided to recreate it. The result of the attempt is the Genesis-Revorse, a construct of great power far beyond its body can hold. It would be locked away for safety in its pillar as a solution to fix its flaws. However what was shown is a promising sign to the mistress with its ability to rip open the earth and reality just like its inspiration."

    I think Genesis in the game done pretty good job on what the hive meant to be with these things being creation of Qira to be part of her army and stuff. So I don't really fix anything but more contextualize its ability and creation which is that it inspire by the colossus and it literally can cause the fracture with how it shake the arena as you fight it.

    Its role in this rewrite is to establish that Qira indeed is not perfect yet her failure still pretty impressive consider the fact she still make somewhat functional colossi. It also put perspective of how mysterious the colossus is that even Qira can't figure them out. So yeah not much to say but I am happy with how it turn out with this funny earth guy.

Drag from the depth of the ocean where it is supposed to lay dormant, the creature was modified and twisted by the dark essence that harvested from the mysterious entities from the decay regions. Now known as Oceanic Horror, all creations of Qira must face it to prove their worth to join her crusade."

    Oceanic judge is also one of those character that I have 0 idea what to do with so just like Psychomancer, I just take him to the back alley and shot. Now Oceanic Horror replace the wet old man.

    the idea of Oceanic Horror suppose to be like Qira try to create dernic creatures just so it can be test dummy for her creation because that what they meant to fight against so she has to make sure they can actually can fight dern entities.

    I can imagine its origin being some sort of deep sea creature that once active before the time ocean was calm and lay dormant ever since until Qira just drag it out of the ocean becasue it would be serve as closet template for dernic creature in the world. After couple of experiments, the fish just die but like boom bunch of tentacles burst from its mouth. Now Qira just have this horror as her test dummy.

    "The mistress once met a dying dogun escaping from the war that threatened to rid the world of his people, they made a deal that she would save his life for servitute. His body is broken beyond recovery now that he is far away from the warmth of his home, so the mistress seeks an alternative. Walking to the now abandoned battlefield, she gathers shards of the defeated demonic god and brings it back to her domain. With forbidden magic, she rebuilt his body along with the shard where his flame reignited and intensified to heal his body. Reborn as her vanguard, he is the final opponent for challengers before they face the mistress herself."

    Last one for the Qira remake for Wartorn Project. This one is Solar Vanguard, our beloved destroyer of the DPS build. In game, there is not much problem with Solar Vanguard and this remake is just adding more story of him to make him more establish in the world. I really want to explore the idea of fleshcrafting on him in which Qira combine his body with shard of Garaheth to make him essentially this powered up dogun that capable of living in freezing enviroment due to himself act as mobile heat source that match the enviroment of Molten Height.

    Out side of battle, I can imagine him act as unoffical housekeeper of the sanctum and act as respected "leader" of the servant because nobody respect Yansur enough to ask him for advice or assistance. This would Yansur have one sided rivalry with Solar. Beside that I can still imagine him really really hate dwarves because of he seeing his people get slaughter by them before he left the height for safety.

    I far prefer this, I felt Qira's story was way to ambiguous and this fixes it so well i like the fact that the bosses all have lore instead of just being 'constructed for qiras army'

    While personally, this was better than original Qira. I feel like her roles in world are still lacking. Like sure the dwarves are sending you into her hive but that's about it no?, also what would even be conclusion of the quest even? Dwarfs might rally up troops to approach her, since she's building a literal army near their city of Thanos after all?. How would the player even defuse such situation, if anything the last challenge with Qira should be making point that she should contact Thanos to ease tension between Thanos and the hive.

    this is a really cool idea, i think the only problem is that the biggest peacekeeping questline in the game also includes the dwarves, which at that point another seems overkill

    instead it could be between cinfras and the hive cause they are fairly close, maybe even eltom cause only one quest for them seems unfair
