Hey everyone I just thought I would take a break from doing absolutely nothing to shill over some of my favorite games that nobody talks about. Here's my list of games that are criminally underrated and need more attention. This is more about smaller games that go unnoticed that I think deserve a chance.
I would have included a few more but none of them except maybe Warframe can be considered "underrated" enough to fit in this list. So my honorable mentions are Warframe, Black Ops 3 on PC, Terraria, and Final Fantasy XIV. Also Battlerite is underrated as hell but I only thought of it after writing this entire thread and I'm too lazy to write another segment for it so here it is I guess.

    1. Kid Icarus: Uprising: This game is my absolute GOAT, my favorite game of all time. It's a 3rd person shooter/beat-em-up hybrid with an amazing weapon system where there are tons of different weapon "classes" and each weapon even within its class is unique, along with powers that you can unlock and jam into a tetris board as best you can. It has the most single-player replayability I've ever seen in any video game and Pit is my contender for having the most character personality of any video game character and especially any Nintendo game. The entire game's dialogue is like a skype call where every single character involved is a petty asshole and it's the best dialogue ever in video games. The enemy design is absolute peak, as is the level design, graphics, and music.
The only problem is that it's on the 3DS and its controls are a great advertisement for corticosteroids. Other than that, if you own a 3DS I highly recommend you play this game.
And if you don't own a 3DS... now, being a good boy with 100 good boy points, I of course would never directly advocate for emulation... buuut... you know, it is a really good game... Do with that information as you will.

    2. Gravity Rush: I don't know what it is about these flagship games made for handhelds that makes them weirdly amazing, this time it's Gravity Rush for the PS Vita which got remastered and ported to PS4. In the game you control Kat with the ability to shift gravity and fall in any direction you want, essentially letting you fly anywhere but it's also highly combat-oriented and the combat is very satisfying when combined with these abilities. The story and cutscenes are great, animated in a sort of moving comic book fashion and Kat herself is one of the most adorable main characters ever. The music is amazing; in fact, the most played track on my phone is Resistance and Extermination from this game. Also, this game has a sequel and it's even better than the first. Both Gravity Rush and its sequel are on PS4 and free with PS Plus.

    3. Paladins: Ah yes, Paladins my beloved. This wouldn't be a proper underrated games list without my personal favorite multiplayer shooter. It's a hero shooter similar to Overwatch and Marvel Rivals, but the difference here is a couple things: firstly, the character designs are top-notch (mostly), leagues better than anything in Overwatch both design-wise and gameplay-wise. There's a character Yagorath, who is like... basically, imagine playing as the Grootslang raid boss, that's Yagorath. And yeah, she's actually designed to play like a raid boss and it's awesome. Otherwise, the game has buildcrafting unlike OW where you can pick a loadout of "cards" that augment your character and at the start of each match, you pick a loadout and a "talent" that change the way your character plays.
My favorite part is the item shop (which isn't as confusing as it sounds, trust me). You don't ever have to worry about, say, "4 shield meta" or whatever because you can just buy an item mid-match that directly counters it. If the enemies went a full team based around CC, I could buy Resilience which gives a passive CC reduction up to 75%. It's great, and it keeps the more obnoxious things of hero shooters in check without completely invalidating them. Paladins is on Steam, Xbox, and PS.

    4. Crosscode: Crosscode is personally my favorite indie game, it's a top-down beat-em-up inspired by games like A Link to the Past. You play as Lea and you not only have a big skill tree, but you also can upgrade to get up to 4 new elements that you can switch to on the fly, each with their own skill tree. You have different arts (or abilities) that you can use in combat; throw arts, dash arts, shield arts, and melee arts, and each element's skill tree has 6 different arts per category, per element which are all different. The skill trees in Crosscode are also almost exactly like the ability trees here in Wynncraft so if you like buildcrafting here then you'll really love Crosscode. The game is also quite difficult (including the puzzles) but there's an in-game assist mode that lets you hand-pick exactly how hard combat or puzzles are so that's not a problem. Crosscode is on every major platform.

    5. Fae Factics: This is a top-down tactics game but it's my personal favorite out of them for a number of reasons. First of all, the battle system is not only highly complex but also simplified to avoid the use of any menus in combat. And secondly, it's so incredibly satisfying to play. Whether it's landing a crit, doing a multi-chain attack, clearing enemies with your Ultra, everything just feels like it has that extra oomph. The only problem I have is that the graphics are both good and bad. The graphics of everything involving actual battles is amazing including spritework and effects, but the portraits are pretty bad, each character only has one portrait, and the out-of-battle menus are very... strange. Nonetheless the characters themselves are great and I liked the story, and any game where you can double-team someone with a dog is automatically fun. Fae Tactics is on Steam, Microsoft Store, and Xbox.

    6. MiSide: I don't want to talk too much about this game because simply talking about it is spoiling the experience. But basically, it's a story-focused game designed to defy your expectations. The characters in the game are all memorable and unique which is ironic given that they're technically all the same character. But what makes it amazing is just the love and care put into every section of the game's story. It's only like a 6 hour game to beat it but those 6 hours are so incredibly good that you'd never think it was made by only 2 guys. The game is on Steam and also runs perfectly fine on Steam Deck as long as you rebind one single key ("K" if I remember correctly).

    7. Rune Fencer Illyia: Okay so this is kinda cheating because it hasn't come out yet but I was personally given a special demo for the game by the developer for paying what one might consider an absurd amount of money on the game's kickstarter, and the game is amazing. It's a metroidvania with a special gimmick of being able to steal enemies' powers and weapons along with really satisfying combat. The music is great, the characters so far are amazing, the graphics are incredible and so far I love what little I've seen, enough that I've played my 3 hour demo for over 20 hours. You can wishlist it on Steam, and it will launch on PC and Nintendo Switch.

    8. SCP: Secret Laboratory: This is a horror game where your goal is to escape and the monsters are players. That may sound like it reeks of Dead By Daylight but actually the way Secret Lab does it is genuinely far better. In Secret Lab you actually respawn later if you die so it's far less frustrating to get killed by a monster. The game is simple but the atmospheric horror is surprisingly well done and the fact that it has proximity chat actually means it can be one of those "funny" horror games similar to Lethal Company, REPO, and Content Warning, so if you like those games you'll probably like this. The joy is not only in escaping but also in the interactions with fellow players and there's even official modding support for the servers so you can find some crazy stuff on servers in the game's great server browser. It's always fun to load in to a new match, become a D-Class, then hear all the guys around you yelling "D-bois! D-bois! D-bois!"
You can play it on Steam.

    9. Blade and Sorcery: This is a VR game that you might have seen pop off quite a few years ago back in early access, but now it's fully released with its own main campaign mode where you can buy and unlock weapons and unlock insanely powerful abilities and spells. The big highlight is how everything in the game interacts with one other in ways that make it so dynamic that I wish it were the standard for every single VR game moving forward. The way you can interact with your spells, the enemies, and the environment allows for a level of creativity completely unmatched by any other VR game out there. You can climb cliffs with fire-imbued swords, use telekinesis to catch enemies' fireballs and throw them right back, drop enemies into a pit with a gravity grip, and turn weapons into spinning fidget spinners of death. Also, there is literally no cooler VR combat in the entire industry than the giant golem boss fights. The creativity is immaculate. Anyways, the game is on Steam and I believe the Meta/Oculus store.

    10. Children of Morta: This is a top-down roguelike where you can play as one of several members of the Bergson family, which all have their own unique weapon, abilities, and skill tree. You unlock more family members as the story progresses and the game is even both online co-op and couch co-op. Each landscape is divided into a few sections and in each section you must go through several floors and then kill the boss. There are other things like unlockables through sidequests, permanent upgrades, and weapon/ability augmentations that you can find. Children of Morta is on all major platforms and it's Steam Deck verified.

    11. Halo Wars 2: This is probably my favorite RTS game or at the very least tied with Starcraft 2, I am just such a big fan of the way units will just attack on the move at all times and the different leader powers make the game way more chaotic. It's also one of the only RTS games in existence to be made with controller inputs in mind. I do have some criticism towards how OP super units are and I think it's very criminal that Hunters are nothing more than anti-tank fodder but otherwise this is one of the few games that I can just boot up, start an AI match, and have fun. I don't really have too much to say about this other than it's a great game with a great campaign, and an amazing DLC (Awakening the Nightmare). Heck, one of the missions in said DLC (Fighting Retreat to be exact) is actually my favorite mission in any RTS game.
Halo Wars 2 is on Microsoft Store and Xbox.

    12. Wynncraft: Yeah, you know, I actually don't know if I can recommend this one... I hear this game sucks ass and the owner is a deranged cow that sucks toes so you guys might wanna stay away from this one

Anyways I'm curious, tell me if you guys have played any of these games and also share some of your games.
