How viable would a sharpshooter build be for playing solo?

Pretty much just the title, I want to try sharpshooter but I'm worried I'll get destroyed by most enemies out of a lack of crowd control

 

if you manage arrow shield and escape spell well, you'll be fine.

 

I know its a late reply but boltslinger or trapper are much easier for playing solo (just dont use guardian angels as they dont give the shield that arrow shield does and focus on dmg instead) Boltslinger while can be used against larger mobs or enemies, its better used for single target. CC isnt really an issue for any class as all classes have one way or another to reposition
