So I was reading some sad poems and I came across this one


text if it’s broken

“Immortality (Do not stand at my grave and weep)
Do not stand
By my grave, and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep—
I am the thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints in snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle, autumn rain.
As you awake with morning's hush, I am the swift, up-flinging rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight, I am the day transcending night.

Do not stand
By my grave, and cry—
l am not there,
I did not die.“

So it sounded familiar and then I realized!
“I am the thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints in snow”
that’s the lore from the Token of Remembrance you get from doing all the memories on the Travelers Trail from 2023 or before!

so at first it just sounds like a cool snow related poem to add, but then if you read the poem, you begin to see something
the poem is about someone telling a loved one to not mourn at their grave, because they have become everything, and at one with the world

“I am the thousand winds that blow
I am the diamond glints in snow
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle, autumn rain.”
it is talking about the seasons.

now, which character in Wynncraft is related to the seasons, can’t get over the loss of loved ones, and has a grave that they are obsessed with?

YEAH BOI NEW ASTER LORE LETS GOOOO
Basically the traveler trying to tell aster to accept that his brothers are gone and get over it


Now this might be a nice find.avi moment but I don’t THINK anyone has found this before. I think it’s interesting

nvm apparently a ct member didn't make this poem it was made almost a century ago

still cool reference tho

 

Of course CT didn’t MAKE it, but they found a VERY apropos poem and put it in the game sneakily.
Also I found it because, and I promise I’m not lying: the city bus stop that is close to my house that I use every morning is shutting down this weekend, and while I was waiting for the bus I wanted to have a funeral service for it, so I recited a bunch of dirges and poems, and one of the ones I found on poetry.com when I searched “deathbed” was this one

 

amazing how a bus no longer working directly affected a secret CT Easter egg in a Minecraft game. What a magical world

 

no, lex time traveled to 1934 and gave the poem to clare harper to publish all for the sake of wynncraft lore, obviously

edit: i've since been corrected, clare harper actually made the wynncraft festival lore 90 years before wynncraft released and entrusted salted & lex to publish the rest of it whenever minecraft dropped

 

Attention everyone. The bus stop still works. This has been a miraculous revival. Unfortunately, that means that the lore should never have been discovered. So I declare it Un-discovered.
