What will come out first: GTA VI or Fruma

Biggest question of all time; What will come first: GTA VI or Fruma? Give me your reasons to what will come first.

 

GTA VI 100%

 

Fruma isn’t coming out until at least April of 2025. It’s unheard for major updates to take place in less than a year of each other. The only reason why Fruma might be an exception is that the CT was also more focused on Fruma during the last update (or at least I’m assuming that’s why we didn’t get any new quests).

 

I unironicly think that GTA6 will release first.

 

If everything in GTA6 is as high quality as that trailer I'm almost certain it's getting delayed to 2026. Fruma, on the other hand, will probably release next year; I'm guessing it's near completion.

Now here's another question: will both of these release before Silksong?

I thought the game was canned at this point. Do they have an actual schedule? I haven’t kept up with any news.

 

No, it hasn't been canceled. The dev team hasn't stopped development and are still actively working on the game.
The reason it isn't out yet is because they got acquired by Riot Games, increased their scope because of the high expectations, revamped a lot of content such as every faction, and (most importantly) remade their entire game engine from scratch to allow for cross-platform compatibility.
There is going to be a new blog post sometime this month. They've said they should have the most "functionally complete" version of the game by now.

Hopefully a BETA sometime next year or early 2026, but who knows...

 

I’m pretty surprised they revamped their entire game-engine for that. Even Minecraft didn’t do that (though to be fair Minecraft already had a player base by then).

 

Fruma

 

Well, it wasn't just for cross-platform compatibility, it is also going to be much more optimized/performant and should be more accessible to modders.
Plus, they don't want a Java Edition vs. Bedrock Edition situation.

 

I don’t want to stray further off topic, but I’m too curious: is Mojang still focused on feature parity with Bedrock and Java, or even cross compatibility? I’ve heard the former brought up over the years, but I’ve never seen any official word on that matter. And at this point it seems kinda hopeless due to how much is different between the two. I thought the latter was impossible due to coding language differences until I saw a mod that enables just that. So I always assumed that cross-compatibility would be the end goal of feature parity.
