Are rainbow builds bad rn?

    I came back in like 4years
    And I want to try mage with rainbow gear like singularity and stuff.
    How are rainbow builds atm?
    And if I'm going for a rainbow build what subclass(?) Riftwalker, lightbender, arcanist should I go for?
    I don't really know about the classes but I want a class that's similar to the old mage

    Rainbow builds are far from bad right now. The only thing to really be nerfed was the ability to rainbow slap easily. The closest archetype to old mage would be riftwalker.
