How does spell damage (raw number) affect the minions damage from shaman class?

I was wondering how the spell damge affects the damage output of the minions, because i thought when the whole number gets added to each minions damage that would be way too op, would it not?

 

i think its a function of melee damage

i.e when the puppets throw knifes, the knifes do damage as a function of the dps of your weapon
i think its based on melee damage

As far as I know, puppets count as spell damage, which goes off of your weapon's average dps. Let's say your average dps is 100, and a puppet does 20% of your average dps as damage per knife, so 20. Spell raw will work by adding that amount to your weapon's average dps for spells. 10 spell raw would basically make it 110 and the puppet would do 22. It should also be noted that spell raw and other buffs such as spell% or elemental damage dont multiply with each other but are additive. if you have 100 average air dps with 10 spell raw, 10% spell damage, and 10% air damage, each of these buffs will effectively add 10 raw dps and the total will come out to 130. 200 average air dps with 47 spell raw, 92% spell damage, and 26% air damage would come out to 200 + 47 + (200 x .92) + (200 x .26) = 200 + 47 + 184 + 52 = 483 average air spell dps = 96.6 average air damage per knife.

I believe so! Idk much about powder special calculations tho
