Hi there time for your annually reminder of classic Wynncraft explosion and meteor shenanigans and how funny and fun and wacky and goofy and not at all terrible and inconsistent in the slightest

(Also because 2.1 is probably going to either discontinue or outright just remove most if not all old mob spells so now's my last time to do this)

Hi anyways yes time to talk about how cool and engaging and sick and radical they are as mob spells

Like how heavy explode has a range which spreads across the entirety of the Pacific Ocean!!!

Oh btw speaking of which if people aren't aware already yes explosion is a mob spell

This is Heavy Explosion, the variant with a more spread-out particles

No like seriously not only is it pretty much invisible if there is even another source of smoke particles in proximity of this battle (So basically like, a lot of things) it's not even goddamn tangible all the particles are just dissociated from each other

That was not a joke slow the footage down all three particles are literally at three different y-levels



Oh btw meteor is also one of the few mob spells that can actually fail to cast if the player is not close enough so good luck using that as a spell chain telegraph lmao

Anyways that sure was a doozy



(These two spells are a handful I'll tell you that much, one is almost undetectable and the other one is nigh-unavoidable if you are anywhere within a 150-block radius of the mob)

meteor definitely exists, you dont notice it until you know to look for it. was mage meteor like this when it was added? i think i heard that once but i started playing in 2018 so idk about the pre-gavel stuff

Just checked, you are correct, it was changed to fall from the sky in 1.11, early 2014.
So, yeah, "old meteor" like really.. really.. old meteor, used to not fall from the sky.

 

In other words I want to have a quick talk with whoever called a projectile that very much does not fall from the sky a "meteor"
