Kiwi pet

So, first, we're told 'Show up for the trailer and you get kiwi pet'. People do this and it ruins the trailer chat.

Now, we're told 'Show up for opening weekend at you get kiwi pet', implicitly invalidating the trailer stuff.

What is going on, exactly?

The teasers for this update seem really mishandled for me, and two days is still an annoying window. I, personally, have that time, but only barely. Better than only a few minutes for the trailer but this is still confusing.

Can we please have this be clearer next time? Better handled? I'm sure there's a lot to learn from this derailed hype train.
