(Also because 2.1 is probably going to either discontinue or outright just remove most if not all old mob spells so now's my last time to do this)

Hi anyways yes time to talk about how cool and engaging and sick and radical it is as a mob spell

Okay I gotta be honest this post took so long because I honestly couldn't think of anything wrong or unfair with wave

It's honestly genuinely not that bad of a spell



I um

Welp

I guess I'll just talk about cool facts about it or smth lol ok

Like how mage can just bypass the entire thing lmao
I'm just kidding it's just a natural design of mage itself the spell is still fine



Oh and also as another cool fact some people might not be aware of
The Eye has (or had, at least in 1.19) an exclusive Wave variant separate from Wave and Heavy Wave, which is Huge Wave



According to Selvut (at least from what I can remember) The Eye has this so that the wave lasts long enough to travel all the way to the back of the arena which is kinda cool I guess

This means that if you are braindead and don't move this spell is pretty much designed to push you to the BurstRanged-spamming Wretches at the back over there which is kinda dangerous if I do say so myself

Yeah that was a disappointment for me tbh. I get that mobs will be redone one by one but that will probably take years and for now I’d love to see the old spells get touched up for the time being. That way all mobs still feel fresh and new, even if they won’t get custom AI for a while.

Honestly, this is the one Spell I find fair to fight. Fun? No, not entirely, especially since there's no ways above or below it, but it's really nice to have an attack you get to see coming for a few seconds.

honestly i wish they'd focused a lot more on touching up replayable bosses (aka hashr & antikythera) then some of the (one-time) quest bosses like Dr. Essren and The Well Witch. it was cool fighting them, but i feel like time in a replayable dungeon you have to do multiple times to get the rewards from would have been more worth the time (especially now that they no longer need quests)
