SPOILER ' Fool Eater ' information thread (2.1 rare mob)

Fool Eater is a special rare mob added in 2.1 update
Unlike other rare mobs, it spawns in very special way.





While traveling the Silent Expanse, it has very low chance to appear at those marked locations.
When it appears, it stares at you like this




And if you get close to it, it runs away. (You can notice it from howling sound)

To enter the fight, you must approach it total three times.
This encounter progress is saved for class, which doesn't reset upon disconnect or /class, or until you fight it.
(Also it doesn't appear in same place so do not camp for the single place)
client sided btw (but anyone can join the fight once it's spawned)

Health : 9m
Damage : Earth/Thunder/Water/Air
Defense :
- Fire : 350
- Air : 220
- Earth : 575
- Thunder : 630


Attacks
- Melee (drains mana upon hit)
- Flying projectiles summoned from some attacks, slowly traveling to player (drains mana upon hit)
- Teleport-pound above player
- Pounce directed to player ; Does 12170 Neutral + 7620 True Neutral damage TWICE
@JaydonTheWarrior would you tank this?
- Howling (shoots slow projectile, and also gives insane vertical knockback to nearby player, used for combo.)
Also applies speed I buff for a minute to players
- Blindness (from Howling? Duraiton depends on how close you're from it)
- When it reaches low health (about below 10%), spams Pounce / Teleport everytime

Because this mob takes while to find but can kill you very easily, it is recommended to fight in large group, or solo (imo fighting in small group is annoying due to unpredictable charge direction)
And if Fool Eater finds no players around it, it'll despawn, so it's best to not get wiped




Fool Eater drops several emerald blocks and various items upon death, as well as exclusive items

Does that mean I can lunge TWICE in a row?
Imo that sounds like something that would look as stupid as it sounds if someone tries it

Trying to hide this is a Fool's Errand

 

I am not trying to hide it's existence, I am trying to keep the mechanics of how it works unknown until a good bit after launch.
In a perfect world I wouldn't have put it in the beta at all, but I needed players to test it to ensure that the fight worked beyond my personal testing. I explained mechanics of the fight to help with debugging potential problems to a few people in a private thread. Taking the information from there against my wishes and publicizing it before 2.1's official release discourages me from making this kind of content at all.

I fought this dude on beta, the blue wolf is no joke

I've searched for this thing for hours and still have not seen it
I know I likely wouldn't even kill it, I just need to prove a point

 

You missed a 7th spot. It’s right in between the slay lootrun challenge and the defend lootrun challenge in Forgotton Town.

Simply cycle between 7 spots until you see the first one. Immediately after going to the next spot, the second wolf will appear. On the third spot, it will spawn, so avoid going to all locations until ready to fight.

Definitely recommend a large group for this fight. It is NO JOKE. It’s an extremely chaotic but fun fight though.

Large group > Solo >>>>> Small group imo
As small group makes it harder to predict where it'll suddenly pounce at (while large group is just overwhelm)

though they all suffer against despawn glitch

Wowwy, this is one of the coolest things I've ever seen in Wynncraft, this is also the first time I'm seeing this, I only saw a picture of what I assume was the old fool eater mob on discord (without much context)
