with the new 2.1 update coming, there have been a lot of new gui changes that seem kind of odd considering how wynn guis and the theme of the art style have been in the past, in the form of making guis look more modern and simple. up to now (or atleast the lootrun update) wynns gui and art style was very medieval-themed, with duller colors that fit the world. new guis such as the lootrun ones and blacksmith (the main guis that i think are not great) are very bold, bright, and simple, a very stark contrast to how they were before. old guis should have definitely had a remake, as they seem very old, just a simple 3 buttons and a row to identify/sell items, but the new guis do not really fit wynn imo due to how bright and modern they look compared to most other guis. while they are different, i do not necessarily think they are terrible, as they were previously very outdated, they just seem out of place and very bold imo.

however with the new guis, i do think there are some guis that seem to look worse. the tome gui made in 1.20 (as far as i am aware) looks incredible, it fits the art of wynn, just looks good, and shows functionality. from what i have seen of the new gui, it is much more simple and barebone, and while it might highlight the functionality of the tome gui better, i do think it just looks worse. the main gui that i am confused about is the ability tree. the 2.0 version was basically perfect, looks incredible, easy to read as abilities stood out well, and was very functional. the new gui is in my opinion a flat downgrade, as it doesnt really help with functionality, but rather much oversimplifies what was an incredible gui that truly did not need any rework as it did everything as a gui well, and also fit very nicely in with the older art theme. i do not really see why this or the tome gui was reworked as they were both very good looking and functional, and these changes just made them look worse

Agreed with the ATree GUI. The only upgrade I'd consider with that (barring the Aspects cuz that was more or less given) were the new Archetype icons as they fit each one a lot better than a stone with a spiral in it that's colored differently than the other. I have no idea why the ability icons were even changed to begin with. I don't actually have any issues with any of the other new GUIs and while I do consider them an upgrade I can see how people prefer the old ones or wish they were redone in another way, but these... I just can't see why they were changed nor can I see how anyone views these as an upgrade.

Apologies if my tone shifted to more hostile at the end to anyone else reading this (especially to whoever made them, I'm certain you did other cool things in this update), I'm just a bit stunned why these were changed when I thought these would fit in perfectly with the other GUIs in 2.1.
