why do some early quests seem to have been changed in weird ways

    i remember poisoning the pest had some cool cutscenes of pouring the water and then the corrupted guy exploding, which i saw were removed and the second cutscene was replaced with an easy boss
    the puzzle in tunnel troubles was also removed, instead a golem fight that ends as it begins, which is kinda strange considering the puzzle was kinda cool as you had to hide and free the cows
    imo it would be better to show off the cool cutscenes wynn has in these early game quests instead of bosses that are weak, maybe it will be a lot cooler with harder bosses in the upcoming update idk

    yea it seems like a lot of the puzzle stuff was replaced with plain old fights, which i really dislike. just being able to kill everything like the corrupted farmer and the golem makes the corruption seem like less of a threat (not that the golem was corrupted though). I feel like it makes each quest less unique as you can just walk up and stab stab stab without thinking about what you’re doing. feels less like a quest and more like a boss altar honestly, since it’s basically just doing some stuff and then killing some stuff. I get that they are early level quests but that doesn’t mean they have to be boring.

    I feel like those two changes in particular were okay. Poisoning the pest felt anticlimactic and had almost no actual gameplay, and the Tunnel Trouble puzzle always seemed glitchy, and I kept being caught despite the farmer not looking at me.

    I can also understand why Wynn would have less puzzles in the earlygame, even if I don't necessarily agree with the choice. They probably don't want players to get stuck on one and quit the server early.

    That’s funny, i never got caught once and was starting to wonder if you even could lmao. I still to this day don’t know what would happen if you got caught

    All that happens is that you get teleported to the beginning, and all the cows are reset. Nothing too bad, just a bit annoying.

    the logic was that, for new players, the wynn combat is still new and fun. they're unlocking abilities and getting stronger really fast, and they want to try those and whack things. there's no need to add a twist and slow it down with puzzles too much yet. so we made early game quests lead into the combat aspect more.

    it does make sense they want to introduce combat for early players. i do miss the cow one though... it's a core memory i felt like james bond saving the cows

    gonna be honest the cow one either worked first try or took 20 mins because his vision was bugged out sometimes

    My core memory of freeing the cows was finding tracking Drale to Detlas, all the way from Katoa Ranch lol

    I suppose that's sensible. Those puzzles were cool, though. Well, puzzle, singular. Poisoning the Pest was not a puzzle. Arguably its name doesn't even fit anymore.
    I'd like to perhaps see in the future the Tunnel Trouble puzzle return in a more complex way. Perhaps it would fit well in Takan's barracks, although its parkour is fine as-is. That basic concept seems like it would fit pretty well in some sort of infiltration mission - although, now that I think of it, the Rymek Mansion stealth segment is effectively that.
    Hrrr. Perhaps it could fit in Nemract.
