SPOILER Ragnar Appreciation Thread

Ragnar I hope gets implemented in a ToL remake where it is revealed that he never killed the CoW, but faked its death to gain passage (hence the legend of the CoW being able to reanimate was born). He is a hero. He is strong. But not as powerful as you, who ACTUALLY killed it.

 

Yes! He would fit pretty well in there, I saw a fan rewrite of ToL with him in it once.

 

most of my ideas speculate around the player being a living war machine created by fruman queen to essentially end the war of the realms so if anyone can take out the CoW, its them. So yeah, ragnar is technically a fraud, but like... its the fucking CoW... kelight is just a sadist who delights in the deaths of adventurers who want to enter the temple. Ragnar managed to outsmart him. (why does this make kelight and bak'al sound extremely similar???)
(also i really don't like the idea of enemies respawning because it kinda defeats the purpose of fighting in the first place if they can just return (except the player, i think they can't die forever)

Though he may have committed depraved acts, I do believe he was owed what he deserved.

 

I'm pretty sure the CoW destroyed Troms single-handedly in AHC, so I feel like it's weaker somehow in the bossfight. Like the Temple Guard keeps it trapped down there and weakened somehow (Do corrupted need to eat? They could just be starving it.) to be used as a challenge for prospective heroes. The goal isn't to kill it (Which may or may not be possible) but just to subdue it.

Given that there seems to be a bunch of people in the Temple, it seems unreasonable that the player's able to kill it while the Temple can't, especially given the enemies in the temple can certainly challenge the player at that level.
