My name is Existing, I'm pretty new to Wynncraft and I like it so far (despite some hardships due to memory usage and my computer not being too powerful...) I haven't really interacted with the community up until now, but that might change (although knowing myself, I will probably be lurking more than actually posting)

Welcome to the province, recruit! Glad to know you are existing, wouldn't have noticed otherwise! So, you chose the path of the acrobat? A difficult style from what I heard, but an elegant one. How is it going for you?

Want to sit down an chat for a while? Your record is quite impressive, I am sure you have stories to tell. And after that, we can go and tackle ???, I wouldn't mind stretching my old bones again. Orphion, how long have I not put my foot out of the city... Does Arzul even remember me?

Huh? Oh... ahem. Hello there, young assassin! Sorry about that, I was sleeping. Anyways, welcome to Wynn!
Please tell us a little more about yourself. We've got time, plenty of time. I think you might be the first recruit coming in for today, and the next batch won't be here for a couple hours.
Well, if you ever need any help on your adventures, I'll be here with my wybels, watching over the new recruits.
Decided to take a break from the research, I see. Do you have updates from the Silent Expanse? I've been dying to hear any news.

Just that there are a few new eyeballs in the forest. One shaman (I am sure you know who) lost his nerves and decided to cut one of the trees down. Theus stopped him before it was too late, though. No news about the Old City.
Oh, also the efforts to push back the toxic wastes continue, without much success. Vera asks if we have any new ideas, they tried everything...

I switched to acrobat about a week ago I think? Before that, I used to be a trickster. I'm still getting the hang of being an acrobat, but I'd say it's a lot fun, although fighting in cramped spaces is a bit awkward since I walljump sometimes when I don't mean to. I suppose I will get better with practice.
Sure, I would love to chat! Is there anything specific you want me to talk about? Also, ??? seems like a really interesting quest, especially since it has its own subforum.

Practice makes perfect, as the old saying goes. I am sure you will soon scale Mt. Wynn!

We can start with some of your adventures you had. Was there one that stood out? A particularly hard mission, or a very weird one?
??? is a gem or a nightmare, depending on who you ask. Or, more precisely, a gem for me and a nightmare for everyone else. They just can't understand it.

From what I heard, the Expanse is not much better than the plains around the Roots, in some way even trickier. I am surprised they don't have twice the casualties. If you send an army there how many would live to tell the tale, three quarters? two thirds? And the material convoys aren't much better. And it isn't like we have them even if we wanted to send them in. The Corruption War is still going on and we just can't spare much for something that isn't even an immediate problem.

I agree it would be nice, but I don't think it is feasible. Reminds me, I should visit it some time, actually.

I've done plenty of quests for plenty of people. The one that was the most frustrating was climbing the Tower of Ascension, having to grab the tokens after killing enough enemies cost me my life several times. But hey, I did manage to conquer the challenge by the end! Now there's only the Qira Hive, which is pretty similar...

Another quest that stood out was Hollow Serenity. I liked how it always felt like I was being constantly watched and had to keep hiding.
Although I may or may not have been the cause of an entire village getting eradicated by the end... I'm so sorry, innocent villagers...

I also enjoyed getting to know the orcs and helping them around the base in All Roads to Peace, although for some reason I had to heal Ressinter 5 times before the other orcs finally decided to show up.
Now I'm more interested in ??? than ever!

I've been in the storehouse and I know they have what we need, but somehow, whenever the supplies show up in the Silent Expanse, it's missing.
Garvan was... quite the villager. I thought I could save him... he chose the wrong path.

Tower of Ascension is a very interesting thing. It appeared out of knowhere, and without any apparent goal in mind they challenge everyone to try to beat it. Qira, despite all her quirks and unsettling stories, at least has a clear motive. But Ankou? Not a chance. And that crystal on top... A friend of mine who is an expert on these told me a few things about them. Not very nice stuff. But people come and try, sometimes even succeeding, like you. I wonder why Death agreed to it. I have seen many depictions of it, more cruel or benevolent, but none looked like they would do this. Eh, an mystery for another man, I suppose. My old bones will meet it soon, no need to rush.

By the way, you have it easier than those before you. A few years ago one had to gather ten tokens instead of five. Has it really been that much time...?
I have not heard of Hollow Serenity, actually! What happened there? I usually know about eveything that happens in the provinces, but this seems to have evaded my sight.

Besides Tower of Ascension, there is more to explore. The Twains, Bob, the laboratory... have you seen those?

I shall wait then. You should be able to tackle it with your current experience though.

As I said, the Expanse is a dangerous place...

Oh, I do not envy the adventurers before me who had to collect 10 tokens. When I started climbing, I was convinced I needed to collect 10 tokens per floor, and after I noticed I didn't, it became less tedious.

Also, for why Death went into this, I suppose she needs to do something in her free time as well. Although something seemed off about her appearance making me question her identity, but she WAS pretty powerful, so my mind might just be playing tricks on me.

Well, I explored a haunted mansion in the Kander forest which was owned by the Faltachs, learning about its history all the while a ghost kept following me and a mysterious figure kept stalking me, trying to stop me from learning more information at every turn.
I also asked around in a small village at some point. Sadly, my decisions led to most of its inhabitants dying, which I only accidentally discovered when roaming the area after finishing the quest. The village has a dark past directly involved with the downfall of the Faltachs, sure, but that happened over 100 years ago, and I believe the current inhabitants didn't have too much to do with what happened, especially the ones who moved in from the outside, therefore I'm kinda sad about their unfortunate fate. The only survivor is the only one with direct ties to someone who was involved (at least as far as I know,) ironically.

It's sad what happened to him, but he also undeniably did some horrific acts which I'm not sure he felt the gravity of. At least he can rest now.

I've met and challenged Bob too, actually! I sadly didn't really have an epic fight with him, since I decided to do the Tower of Ascension first for better gear, and it made the fight pretty trivial for me (I'm still a bit shocked he went down that easily.) However, I can't deny that meeting THE Hero of Wynn was very exciting, especially after learning about his life story in depth.

I've also been inside The House of Twain, and fought with a reanimated Theorick after learning how Nesaak froze over. I don't know as much about them as I do about Bob, as I haven't read as much about them, all I know is that Theorick liked pottery. Maybe if I were to stumble upon a library detailing their history, things'd be different...

Speaking of laboratories, I've recently been inside a laboratory. I tried spying around a bit and then I turned into a cow after walking into one of the machines! It was quite a weird experience, I won't lie... But I did see some familiar faces along the way. And no need to worry, I'm back to being a human now!

Despite having enough experience, I don't know where to start looking, since the book doesn't give any instructions on where to go or what to do.

I'd say reaping the dead is quite a busy job, looking all around the world. Corruption, Decay, Gerts, Doguns, and many more... just so much death, sometimes not even for a reason... Some say Corruption is a plague sent by the Gods for our sins, and there are days when I would be willing to believe it. But then you'd think it would spare the just, no? Maybe there are no just people...

Oh, wow! What happened to the Faltachs that the entire mansion became haunted? Somewhat reminds me of another haunted mansion, in Nemract, though it wasn't nearly as lethal as this. In fact, not at all.

Robert's story is certainly very interesting and sad. Though he was a beacon of hope, it is tragic. I remember his deeds, I saw him many times on the battlefield. The first to charge in a battle, the last to return. Not even the best of us could even attempt to compare with him. When he trained, it took at least eight of us to even have a chance of a balanced fight. And then he was gone. Overnight he disappeared. Tarod says he visited him to say goodbye, but otherwise nothing. You can't imagine what it caused, you are way too young for this. We lost several battles after the news spread. They weren't even hard, every other day we would be home before lunch, but the morale was so low we suffered heavy casualties. I still remember how my hand shook after seeing my shots miss. MISS! At my prime, shots just a few blocks away! A nightmare it was. Sorry, got lost in memories again.

"THE Hero"... I heard of what you describe, and I also heard there is more to this. A challenge to test one's strength, sure, but the Hero himself? Doesn't sound quite right to be honest...

Ah yes, I know of that one. It was a topic of jokes a while ago after a bunch of recruits stumbled upon it. I meant a different laboratory though, near the Tower.

That is where friends and libraries come in. Contact me and two more people and we shall go on an adventure. Sure, you can attempt to tackle it yourself, but do not expect to succeed. Once upon a time it was a huge mystery, half of the army participated on solving it. Heh, it took time to solve it, and even more to find every last secret.

Well, they hired a scientist to find out the cause behind the Decay that has been plaguing the region. The wife was also cheating on her husband with this scientist. With time, however, the scientist went mad while trying to find a cure, which wasn't helped by some locals from a nearby village setting him on a dark path. This led to him infesting the family's daughter with a parasite, and soon after their house was raided by the villagers, leading to the mother's death. The scientist, desperate after losing his love, bound her soul (along with his own) to the mansion.

There seem to be a lot of haunted mansions here... The House of Twains is also haunted, and I think there's another abandoned mansion in the Dark Forest. It's kinda weird how common they are.

Oh, I'm sorry I made you remember such negative memories. It sounds like Bob's disappearance caused a lot of despair. My condolences for having to go through that.

He did look a bit different from how I thought he would, and he didn't really put up a fight either. I just chalked it up to him going easy on me, since I don't think I would've even come close to beating him otherwise.

I don't remember visiting a laboratory near the Tower, although I haven't really explored that region thoroughly. Maybe I'll find it one day.

Alright, will do. Where should I contact everyone? Through the party finder? On the forums?

Yet another failed attempt... Though of different cause, the Decay and Corruption seems to be equally unsolvable... What a shame so many innocents had to go down because of it, though.

On the other hand if you look at how much suffering is in the world... one would be surprised it is only mansions that are haunted...

We knew it was inevitable. After all, Bob was very old, the day had to come eventually. It was just so strange, disappearing so suddenly...
If you want to know more, explore the area further, there are more secrets to be uncovered!

It is well hidden, and only thanks to others passing the knowledge upon me I am aware of it. Perhaps one day, when we meet again, I will show you.

Anywhere. The forums, discord, passing strangers... Eventually you shall find someone.
