this is an obvious leek cave teaser. if there are no leeks or sprig onions in a cave in 2.1 i will be sorely disappointed.

 

My theory is that it's a PVP update and that the flame may relate to the corruption in some way (totally not biased here) Maybe the Realm of War/Nether will come back? I never went in it despite being around when it was still open because I was too scared to enter lol.
I'm hoping for a leaderboard system or something that encourages healthy interaction + competition between players + renewable content

 

This sounds really likely. With the Fruma storyline coming out soon, I think they'll want to do a lot of retconning with the old quests.

 

What if they are finally doing something with the outdated soulpoint system? And this represents the new texture of soul points/the replacement

 

I’d like to reiterate this as well. The fact that Salted highlighted it’ll be something that ALL Minecraft players will be interested in seems to suggest something pretty groundbreaking. I doubt the main feature will be something like quest reworks, rebuilds, or small game system updates (although some of that will likely be present regardless).

I could maaaaaybe see a PVP rework/update. Or, perhaps a Nether rogue-like game mode where you go on “runs” into the nether, beating different bosses and stages and attempting to get to the final boss before dying. Would certainly be a fun addition for players of every level, and could potentially be something for “all Minecraft players.”

Perhaps they’ve figured out how to re-add armor skins? Might not be a huge update, but combine this with my next idea…

Another (and slightly different) idea is, what if they’ve updated their GM and code tools, and have created a streamlined easy to use toolset for creating MMORPGS in Minecraft, and plan on selling said tools for a subscription price (and a cut of the profits) to anyone in the Minecraft community..? If any of you have kept up with Mineplex, they announced that they’re doing a similar thing, and made it sound pretty groundbreaking. Would be a good revenue stream, plus if said tools were updated we might see overall game improvements alongside this.

that being said they're saying that the ENTIRE minecraft community would be interested in the update. Very bold statement but i can't say im not intrigued

 

I think it could be some cool 1.16 stuff, and they could do things that have never been seen before in Minecraft

 

I hope wynncraft adds some new stuff that would be pretty neat

 

at least one bug (unintended feature) and one bug (insect) added this update

 

There's been ways to do this since internal shaders were added, which is the system spellforge uses.

And since 1.20, you've been able to do it by adding custom armor trims, which is what my server currently uses and what spellforge is moving over to.

Wynncraft could have done it a while ago though, and just sorta haven't.

 

Random theory I just had that's tangentially related to 2.1: assuming 2.1 comes out in fall 2024, this could mean that we reexperience what happened in 2022 with the Festival of the Spirits with it slightly leaking into the Festival of the Bonfire, or if not that, then Spirits doing the same to Bonfire, or even if its delayed to winter 2024, Spirits into Blizzard or vice versa.
