I think I've mentioned on and off that I'm working on constructing a fully-fledged High Gavellian language. This is easily the single biggest conalnging project I've ever done, but the good news is that the language right now is 99% complete. I really just need to write up the documentation for the whole thing.

As a display of that completion, here's the fable "The North Wind and the Sun," translated into this constructed High Gavellian. Credit goes to @CloudyBogdan for the amazing font.

The North Wind and the Sun around which is of them the stronger quarrel had been making. During they with power and anti-glory disputing, in cloak's wrapping a Traveler via the road nearby went.

"(Let us) be able to agree," the Sun said, "who that Traveler's the cloak strip can the stronger is."

"Thus it be," the North Wind snarled, and it chaotic (bitingly cold/unexpected/demoralizing) great strike intended to Traveler obliterate sent. With the wind's the beginning, the cloak's small parts all around the Traveler whipped. but (he) around himself extremely quickly closely wrapped it, and the Wind with more than before strike would do, and (he) would secure tightly more than before around himself it. The North Wind at the cloak angrily tore, but gave him all attempting nothing.

Next, became light via the Sun. Initially new sunlight gentled, and the Traveler in the North Wind's bitter cold's after's the soft warmth, (his) cloak unsecuring did and off his shoulders untightly hung. The sun's warmth more warm and more warm than before became. The man his cap and sweat removed. Thus it was, that undressed cloak because he with much heat had become, and, because escaping the blazing sunshine, along the roadside himself within a tree's the welcome shade entirely gave.

    Translation:
The North Wind and the Sun had a quarrel about which of them was the stronger. While they were disputing with much heat and bluster, a Traveler passed along the road wrapped in a cloak.

“Let us agree,” said the Sun, “that he is the stronger who can strip that Traveler of his cloak.”

“Very well,” growled the North Wind, and at once sent a cold, howling blast against the Traveler. With the first gust of wind the ends of the cloak whipped about the Traveler’s body. But he immediately wrapped it closely around him, and the harder the Wind blew, the tighter he held it to him. The North Wind tore angrily at the cloak, but all his efforts were in vain.

Then the Sun began to shine. At first his beams were gentle, and in the pleasant warmth after the bitter cold of the North Wind, the Traveler unfastened his cloak and let it hang loosely from his shoulders. The Sun’s rays grew warmer and warmer. The man took off his cap and mopped his brow. At last he became so heated that he pulled off his cloak, and, to escape the blazing sunshine, threw himself down in the welcome shade of a tree by the roadside.
