why tf is venison so expensive

    1: it's legendary (and thus pretty rare) and since nobody really grinds stuff at that level, supply is pretty low
    2: it's very strong at-level (16 mana regen is a lot)

    Basic supply and demand problem. Venison is in high demand due to its status as one of the best early-mid game legendary helmets for what it provides (16/5s Mana Regen is no joke), yet because people inevitably level up it becomes unfeasible to farm the helmet without suffering drop rate reductions at higher levels. As a result, supply cannot keep up with the demand, and Venison ends up being expensive.

    I don't claim to know how the item drop system works, I'm just making an assumption that lower level items drop less often at high levels.
