Gale’s grave

I was at the Qira hive completing invitations for the blizzard festival and didn’t remember who Gale was so looked on the wiki, which in turn led me to their grave, I was chucked some random boots I had as I was leaving but the soul sand on the grave sucked them in meaning that a hopper is underneath, I was wondering if anyone knows if it does anything or is that just random?

 

Her grave's mechanism is currently non-functional, perhaps in a future update.
