Serious Is the art contest ever going to get brought back up?

From what I'm seeing, Wynncraft has had a long habit of hosting art contests for special events (bonfire, blizzard and such), however, it had all be put to a halt when there were community backlash about an AI-generated artwork winning fourth place. Worse yet, the team appeared to care little and there has not been another contest ever since.

Is the contest going to get brought back up at some point with proper measurements, or is it simply no longer worth your time when efforts are involved?
It is genuinely disappointing to see that this contest just got wiped without a trace after *one* single incident.

 

I think with the way AI art is developing so far, it could eventually become almost indistinguishable from actual genuine artworks, to the point where even some AI detector tools might not be able to catch it. Unfortunately it took one bad actor to show the flaws of this contest and I don't think there will be a thing that'll happen in the future.

 

honestly wouldn't mind if the community were to make its own competitions, like it's been doing with secret santa for example (thx fish)

i know you have pent up anger towards some people in the teams, but man, why is your first assumption that decisions are done out of malice. Have some christmas spirit

 

for crismas spirit i have hosted one myself instead !!!

that being said i'm more on the fact that there has been quite literally zero activity of such event after *that particular incident* happened, it would not be hard to link together without an official explanation

after the submissions got publicized and attracted the community attention that an AI-generated content won fourth prize it's no understatement to say that the hosts don't bother remotely enough to even verify whether what they got was actually done by an actual human

* In regards of "You won't be able to detect AI in the future!!!", that said future has not come yet, we can manage with that later on, and focus on this incident where it is very distinguishable!

 

Also someone else mentioned in a different thread that you could check whether something was made by AI by requiring the artist to show their process/project files. AI may be able to slap together a professional looking image, but it can't generate a .psd file with all the separate layers or the evolution from sketch to linework to coloring to shading to finished art.
