Community Event [Signups Closed] The 2023 Wynncraft Secret Santa!

Hello everyone!

For those unaware, a "Secret Santa" event is where you're assigned a random person (also participating in the event) to secretly give a gift to. However, someone randomly chosen will also give a gift to you!

Participants will send me a list of their 3 most desired Wynncraft items. Then, when entries close, I'll send that list to another participant, and you yourself will be told which third person you'll be giving gifts too along with their wish list. People are expected to only gift one of the items on a person's list (so you can find whichever one is easiest to find or highest quality), but if you manage to find all 3, that's okay and extremely generous of you!

There will be TWO different Secret Santas this year - you can participate in both if you want!

The first is the Standard category. Desired items here must be equal to or less than in price than roughly a chestnut horse, and you CANNOT request a mythic. Players from all levels can participate in this category.

The second is High-Budget category. All items except for those disqualified (see a list further on in this thread) can be requested, including mythics. However, one option on your list must be a non-mythic item. You must have an endgame class for this. Keep in mind that this event is not rule-enforced, so there is a slight possibility that you may not receive an item despite giving away something valuable to a different player. So please, only sign up for this category if you know you'll be able to get online easily in the next two-three months, and if you are prepared to give away something expensive.

Signups have closed on December 15th, 11:00PM Central Time Zone. Expect a follow-up message about what player you'll be giving gifts up to soon if you don't have one already. You will need to manually trade the items. Please, try to deliver your gifts by the end of January next year.

I was considering allowing some cheaper mythics in the standard category, but I figured it was better to simplify things rather than have a list of exceptions.

can i put something like "anything/random" for my requested items? so its a surprise as to what i get?

 

Unfortunately no, even though I think this is cool in concept, I feel like it just leads to other people being confused as to what to give if they don't know you well.

I did "suprise me" for secret santa irl and got a pair of crusty socks. That was certainly suprising so I guess I can't complain

I'm broke ( like 10LE broke) and decided for kicks to put idol, cata and hero to see what I get. is that legal?

 

Please don't enter in the high-budget secret santa if you can't afford items that are expensive - it wouldn't be fair if someone gives you something expensive, but you can't do the same back to someone else.

 

I plan on no-lifing olux slimes before christmas at 10LE /hour ( 2 weeks christmas break, and I don't even need to pay attention. could just watch yt on split screen. Should make enough to pay for one of these if someone asks for it )

 

Two things:

- I have decided to extend the sign-up deadline by a week, as I haven't received that many entries yet.
- If you did something like requesting 3 mythics in the high-budget category, I'll send you a message so you can change your entry to something allowed.

I can afford it now :)

 

and also @WithTheFish : this is hardly secret ( since I'm supposed to give the item directly) .

It isn't really in list format, but I wasn't sure what other word to use.
