Announcement Update on Fruma

Can't describe how much this impacts me personally. Been waiting for Fruma more than anything else since that one wynnter update seven years ago, when the gate appeared on the map. I was in middle school when it happened. Over these years I graduated, cured cancer, enrolled in university, moved to another city and completely changed as a person. And though I don't really play wynn and games in general anymore, being able to see something I desired so much finally shown brings so much joy. Can't wait for this update to happen.

I know you are right, still sucks to not know any specifics about the releasw window, but I undestand.

Hopefully Fruma will be worth it, SE was good, but it lauched with not enough content and too much of the new area was just unacessible mountains.

 

Lol I do agree with you that SE could have used more. But like, if it had come out before there would have been no Biomes, no dungeon, no Lutho, no discoveries, only 2 quests. It could use more, but holy shit if it came out as it was "planned to" it would have been a lot worse.

And I agree with you about it being too much inaccessible content. We have taken what we learned from the mistakes of SE, like too much dead space for content, and tried not to repeat them with Fruma.

 

That's a relief to hear, I absolutely love SE atmosphere, but damm there is so much dead space,

At least the caves are great but there is so much wasted space.

I also hope we get a few more quests than SE, if I'm not mistaken there are only four quests in the region.

 

I mean, it is only the entrance to a Dern lol, I think we would just add Dern. If you compare the playable area of SE it's about the same size as the desert and Mesa, and 4 quests + dungeon + raid + discovery + loot caves isn't that bad for an area of that size. Maybe could used 1 or 2 more quests, but I think we would only do that if we have a good story to tell or gameplay idea. Not just to have more quests for the sake of it.

And yea we really did make an active effort to not have dead space in Fruma. I can't get too into details but some early plans were scrapped because it turned half the area into contentless space. Fruma should feel like a full province, not an island like Corkus or a small addition like SE, and getting that much GOOD content takes awhile. Luckily Fruma has been in the planning stages for many many years, and is by far the most long term planned out content we have ever made. It hasn't been worked on (as in built or scripted) for that many years, but while other updates have been worked on Fruma has been planned in the background.

 

Can't wait then, you made me even more hyped!

Just a minor correction, when SE was released there was no raid yet, it was added in the 1.20 update.

Fruma update has me like

 

We haven't been working on fruma for 3x as long as gavel. We don't have the team size to be making whole updates while another update is being made. Fruma has just been planned out for a long time, it's not like we have been making Fruma quests for the past 5 years and you should expect a update 3x the number of quests as gavel. When we say fruma has been planned for a long time we mean the themes, story, content, and layout of the province, have been planned over and designed for a long time.

ok this is kinda a true criticism though, either someone doesn't know how clothes work or those statues are nude

(and considering the robes on the bottom half, they're probably not intended to be nude)

 

Don't worry, I went and made a big black censor line over their chest, this is a family friendly game! The builder who made that statue has been killed for it also.
