Official Event Item Lore Contest!

I don't think you mentioned the gilded eyefolk enough in your lore

 

So here's what I did:

Overdrive:

Consequences matter not. Aftereffects matter not. You will break down. They will break down. All will break down.

Wanderlust:
Run wild, Run fast,
Your whole world just past,
Feel the air, feel the ocean, feel the trees,
And when you're satisfied, you'll be back in a breeze.​

 

they've probs already added lore to those items already, they just haven't released it yet

 

hey don't diss them just because they aren't mythics

Cryoseism: I don't really remember what I put but I connected it with theorick

 

because we'll come up with our own stuff instead of doing a community event

 

Keratoconus:
Disease, weakness, blindness, sickness. What once stood tall. What once looked up to the skies. What once lived. What once was free.

 

Oblivion lore when?

 

If they wanna do a mythic some time I got some sick alkatraz lore

 

Alkatraz already has lore:
"Soul-locking magic is one outlawed by gavellian governments, only used by the most insidious and cruel of mages. one such enchantment looms dormant in this mundane-looking maul. Continued usage of the weapon threatens to release it upon the wielder, permanently binding them to the weapon."

 

I think we can all agree that Procrastination has the best lore.

Honestly, I feel like events like these should be done more often. They're a great way to introduce new items and item lore, while keeping the staff in touch with the community. Besides, they're pretty fun too!

 

May as well share mine, I've seen a ton of cool ones in this thread!

Temporal Lantern:
•This ancient relik is an enchanted family heirloom of a miner, whose flames have endured for many decades. It holds the knowledge it learned from its past wielders and is eager to share with the next worthy individual that bears conviction.

Wanderlust:
☆Are your heart, soul and mind one? The ones who love are the most vulnerable. The ones who persist are the most detached. The ones who forget are the most naive. Only when you remove these impurities from your body could you reach the end.

Keratoconus:
• The way forward is unclear, blurred, hazy. We offer you an escape, an end. Yet you still keep pushing, keep pushing to go on. Why? They all leave, yet you still persist. There is no one for you here. There is nothing left for you to see. Only darkness awaits you.

Cryoseism:
☆This relik is rumored to have conjured the Frozen Fort and its fiercely loyal minions in an astounding quake. All who once wielded this curio have fallen into a state of mania from the relentless whispers that seize control of minds it comes across.

Overdrive:
☆Once the trusted tool of a well-known Corkian Handyman, it has since fallen into disrepair. Yet, it continues to be a conductor of strong, unbridled electromagic, sending electrical and emotional shocks to stupefy its targets.

these might be way too long but im just verbose like that kekw (+ ive handed them in no going back now)

 

The three I have at the moment, respectively based on the Frozen Fort, the Eye (and the creatures spawned from its stock), and the Blueshift Archipelago:


Cryoseism
From the mountainous spires of ice that pierce the clouds where dragons once ruled, this titanic power has fallen into your hands, as gently as fresh snow.

Keratoconus
Your vision is blurred by glassy flesh, blood that is not your own flowing through the veins creeping across your skin. Something else watches through your eyes.

Wanderlust
Unfathomable memories flood your heart - forgotten worlds and lives, familiar and alien, blotted away beyond the horizon by shades of deepest blue.

 

I wrote a poem-ish for Cryoseism, though it's a bit too long. Instead of submitting it, I'm putting it here while I submit something shorter. It references the freezing heights and the story of its creation.

The earth trembled when the wail sounded; it bore witness to a glistening tapestry of azure and ivory, a defiance against the raging fire and voracious flames. The despot revelled in authority's light, but the oppressed knew only night. Cold and barren, a world too harsh, bitter, forlorn. All that endures is a fragment of glacial might. The Doguns beseech, let the Drake's power remain unseen.

 

Ok I've been really busy doing nothing of importance so I really hope I'm not too late submitting but here's my Temporal Lantern one:

The light of this lantern, shining bright enough,
casts shadows of things yet to pass.
But staring deep into the heart of the flame,
all you can make out is the dark.

 

For Cryoseism:

The ice dragon's breath that froze the Heights caused the earth beneath it to quake.
One nail of the beast got lodged in a fissure, until a Dogun simply took it away.

Definitely not gonna win it after seeing everyone else's lore submissions. Still, I hope everyone had fun making up item lores and best of luck to y'alls!

(if the winning cryo lore does mentioned the freezing heights tho i will take partial credit for inspiring it (i think. idk if my narcissistic mind will let me think i didnt inspire cryo lor having freezing heights))
