Why is Shaman so bad?

Shaman (/Summoner) user here, I have been playing off and on for many years now. But I have always enjoyed Shaman, but I feel like everything is balanced for non-Shaman. Because it just sucks. Seriously. I am extremely depressed, I was happy with the Invigorating Wave bug damage. Because I was actually useful, had damage.. and that is it. That's all that exist for Summoner, damage, nothing else. Before you say that healing and the Effigy CC. a) Mage Healing does more. b) cc immunity

And the damage is lower than most of the DPS Builds. The bug just removed 9/10th of my damage.. and now I am a useless piece of crap.

Yes, I am coping, yes I am delusional, I am just depressed. I saw a post of the forums about a rework on summoner and I would love that. if it was just visually it would be also nice.

but why does trapper have more summons than summoner? why is trapper more useful than summoner? why does trapper have more utility than summoner? why does trapper have more damage than summoner?

Aftershock tierstack can easily get over 100k dps
Olympic acolite is also very good.

 

idk man maybe you are playing summoner wrong?
I played summoner shaman on my 2nd 100+ playthrough and I melted through all the tough bosses like bob and death and qira by just hauling my a$$
I guess the only downside I faced is when the totem healing wasnt enough so I had to switch to pots and that cancelled all the active totems but I just pressed my wynntils spell 1 key 3 times and everything was good

Edit: So far out of my three 100+ class (warrior, shaman, archer) shaman has been the easiest but I have like 80 ping so maybe your ping is really high?

you are right because spell shaman sucks other than for crowd control, and most challenges in wynn are single target. However, shaman's melee actually does a ton of damage, and shaman also has a lot of multiplicative damage bonuses.

 

It is indeed correct that shaman melee does a ton of damage, but that's not the point of shaman. you're not starting out the game when playing shaman to play melee, you're playing for the weird mechanics of the totems and other things. not the bloody melee, that's not the identity of shaman.

You ain't alone in this sentiment. A lot of people feel the same way about summoner.

 

i am not 100% sure about this, but isn't that project done for? i think the person that came up with that idea got an invitation for ct but declined.

 

Shaman just needs a lot of work and try hard just to be as good as the other classes

 

hey it's still a proposal. ct can still agree with the notion of the changes and do something similar

 

Unfortunately unless he joins ct it probably won’t be added because he was too in detail.
