Archer/Hunter noob tries to make build for bob's reincarnation (help)

Hey,


Just planning for bob's reincarnation as a new player (lvl 62 archer)

and I have a build I need feedback on; it’s a melee build with a heavy emphasis on life steal for sustain, arrow bombs to slow the boss, and sharpshooter archetype because I think it’s the best for melee.

I'm not stingy with potions, and am willing to down plenty to get me through my playthrough.
I'm also strictly solo, idk why, but I've found myself this far without help, so why stop now!

Planning to complete tower of ascension first so I'll have plenty of ems to spend.

questions + justifications

Why melee? I’ve had poor experiences with spell-based builds, possibly due to my sheer laziness and location, but maybe its time to switch it up ;)

I see there is conflicting opinions on whether bob's elemental defense is an issue, is there a definitive answer?

If there is an issue, what weapon should I be building around?

I’d prefer to keep the skien’s set, it’s something I am quite proud of grinding mostly myself (nearly god tier <85% on the attack raw and percentage), but if there’s a better alternative, I’ll look into it.

Mosquito bow? Anybody heard of it? Dropped 2 le on it and can’t say it’s great, but it’s also not disappointing.

made a link and gave it an ability tree
idk what you mean by bomb slowing down enemies, but that looks like it should be enough for Bob
Corrupted Witherhead's Bow and Maelstrom could be used with different builds, but with yours Mosquito should be fit
Polar Star also works, but Mosquito has lifesteal so that's something

alternative with Maelstrom
less ls but has high enough walkspeed to ditch Frenzy on ability tree
Vile can be replacement for Maelstrom, could be better actually now that i think of it, though less walkspeed means ap on Frenzy

 

whats up with the negative health regen on the second build? is that an issue or nah
also i mean arrow bomb kb to knock back the swords or whatever

 

you said you don't mind health pots, and that hpr means you lose 48 hp per four seconds
it's close to nothing and doesn't matter as long as you procc ls, if you dislike it then whatever
