Look it isn't my fault that 50% of the time the mob's size shrinks this down to a block wide and the other 50% of the time the fight is too particle-messy to see anything

And 100% of the time the particles legit last a few frames of gameplay (This is not an exaggeration I legit had to do x0.1 speed to catch this before the particles dissipate)

This symbol appears while triggering Satsujin apparently, it's just way too subtle to notice in regular gameplay

Can whoever worked on this make it so the characters' particles constantly spawn in that same position for like half a second straight so that we can actually see the two characters hovering in the air

 

By the looks of things it seems to use two kanji symbols
殺 is a character that is often used in the context "to kill" something. It can be read in multiple ways such as "koro(su)" "so(gu)" setsu" "satsu"
人 on the other hand is a character that stands for "person" in most cases. This also has multiple ways of reading it such as "hito" "nin" "jin"
By putting these two together we can analyze that it forms a word that is used to depict the action to "murder"
Judging from the context and my analysis this can only mean one thing:

Mhm, just like Burning Sygil is just a Wynnic 'F' which I assume stands for "Fire"

 

If the archetype effects ever become more iconic and distinguishable from each other so that they have their own unique aesthetics (e.g. Paladin having really biblical/ holy-looking effects or Trapper having plant/ jungle-like particle shapes) I hope Shadestepper will have more of the Chinese symbols appear in their node-relevant attacks

The symbol on the right is literally "person" in Chinese

 

from my limited knowledge of mandarin the right symbol is "rén", and some guy earlier said in kanji (not chinese) the characters say satsujin, so im going to assume thats what they are

 

kanji literally means "chinese characters"

 

they are chinese characters but they're japanese

 

japanese uses a lot of chinese characters

Also, the characters usually mean the same things in both language, just pronounced differently.
