Lore/Story Archer X Assassin fanfic(Based off YouWereTakenn's Versions)

It had been a tiring day.
The soft grass of the grasslands swayed back and forth, moved by only the wind. Small dots of light could be seen across the landscape, from still burning fires and lamps which lit the towns and cities which usually bustling streets slowly emptied. The stars were scattered across the sky like small dots of sand, shining brightly against the pitch black sky. Above it all hung the crescent moon, which softly illuminated the landscape below.

Two friends sat side by side, staring at the stars above. They had spent their day adventuring and fighting, fetching and travelling.
As usual, they made their fair share of mistakes, but there was also much success to their quests. The day seemed unremarkable, but it felt special. Like something new had been sparked.

The two stared upwards silently, not a word between them. Until..

"Tiring day aye?"

"Huh?"

Assassin turned their heads towards Archer, locking eyes with them.
His face seemed so bright. Even in the darkness, his smile could be seen so clearly.

"Oh. I guess."

"You kept messing up my shots yknow! It's hard not to hit you a lot of the time!"

"Not my fault you can't aim properly."

"Hey! I'm a great archer, I could easily hit enemies even with you doing your little dances around those enemies."

"Hey! They aren't dances."

"I dunno, they look like dances to me. Anyways, it doesn't matter. It's just a little bit more challenge for my great archery skills, hah!"

Assassin stares curiously at Archers face.

"I..
-Oh, erm.. thanks for the save with that corrupted earlier. I don't think I thanked you yet.. did I?"

"Hm, don't think so. Well you're welcome! You can always rely on good ol me!"

Archer chuckled lightly, looking back up at the sky. His face seemed so relaxed, yet joyous. It was like a soft campfire in the dark, providing a soothing warmth with it's swaying flames.

"Oh! A shooting star!"

Assassin looked quickly back up, watching as the shining object fell across the sky. It was simple, yet so beautiful. He stared in wonder at it. How lucky he was to be in the presence of it..

"Quick! Make a wish!"

"What?"

Assassin looked over to Archer, who had closed their eyes and looked like they were thinking quite hard.
As the star began to close in on the horizon, Assassin closed their eyes too, and wished for something too.

I.. I wish I can be happy forever.. and.. and.. Archer and I can stay together forever.

Assassin opened their eyes, and watched as the star dissapeared behind the horizon, gone as quickly as it had appeared. He thought about his wish.. for them to be together.. They were great friends already, but assassin felt like there was still this lingering feeling. One that had not been fufilled.
Archer looked over at Assassin, who was staring down at the landscape below.

"Wow.. Hey Asa, what did you wish for?"

"Oh.. I'd rather not say."

"Cmoon, tell me."

"I, don't know."

"Alright. Fine."

Anger looked away, their smile dimming a little.
Was Archer angry at them? Assassin looked up at Archer, who was still staring at the night sky above.
He seems happy.. Am.. I happy??
Assassin thought about what he wanted.
Why did he care what Archer thought? They quarreled all the time and they always made up, or they never lingered on it at all.
What was this feeling?

There was a long silence between the two.
The subtle chirps of the crickets and the sounds of leaves being rustled from the gentle winds could be heard to clearly. Archer looked at the sky with joy and curiousity, while Assassin still stared down at the landscape below them.. pondering.. what.. did they want??

His eyes scanned the land below as he thought.
He looked at the small creatures roaming about in the night, the few silhouettes of people walking across the distant towns. The rivers which stretched across the landscape. It all seemed to vast and spread out, yet all connected somehow..

Then, Assassin realised what they wanted.


"Hey.. Arch?"


"Wassup?"


Assassin looked up at Archers hopeful eyes, the two locking eyes again.
His smile was still so clear and so bright in the soft moonlight.


"I.. wanted to.. tell you."


"Hm? What is it?"


Assassin wanted to say it.. but it was hard, like there was the weight of the world on top of him. Doubts seeped into his mind. Assassin pushed them aside with all his strength, and mustered up the courage to say the words.

"Archer.. I.."

Archer looked expectantly at Assassin, his smile still so ever bright.



"I love you."

Archer seemed to flinch for a moment, surprised by the statement, but he quickly recovered and stared back at Assassin with the same smile as before.

"I.. I think-"

"Do you love me too?"

Assassin stared longingly into Archers eyes. Time seemed to slow as he awaited Archers answer.

"I.. Yeah. I do."

Assassins eyes began to well up, not out of sadness, but out of joy.
He leaped onto Archer, hugging him tightly. Archer smiled, and hugged him back. The two felt each others warmth, their happiness together glowing so bright.
That moment, in each others arms, it felt like the worlds worries and pains had all faded away.
It felt like the future was nothing but joy and hope.
It was the most beautiful thing they had ever felt.
More beautiful than the vast landscape which lay before them.
More beautiful than the glowing crescent moon which glowed brighter than the bustling cities in the day. More beautiful than the falling star which had only appeared in a single moment, falling across the sky with more grace than a bird.

Everything felt, perfect.


Eventually, after Assassins tears had stopped and dried on his cheeks. After the moon had rose to the peak of it's climb. After the lights from the cities and towns below had faded to nothingness, the two let go.

They stared at each others eyes once more.
This time, with more love and joy than they could ever imagine.

"You're a tight hugger Asa."

Assassin chuckled a little, and smiled.

"Guess I just really liked that."

Archer stood up, picking their bow off the ground. With the other arm, he put his hand out. Assassin grabbed it and Archer pulled him up with a heave.

"See you tommorrow, I guess."

"Yeah."

"Yeah."

And with one final glance at each other, they both set off back to their homes, ready to face the future together.









Yeah.

I did a thing.
