Guide Avia Fishing & Rune Grinding - The chill money making method

First of all,
This money making method SUCKS.

Due to looni's video, this method must have been popularized.


However, I must remind you that this is still less efficient than other endgame money making method, and it'll get even worse as time passes.
This thread is only made for guide purpose, for specific (poor, unskilled) people, not everyone.

Wynncraft players have invented various money making method.
Loot running, raid grinding, mythic grinding, forgery chest, stealing emerald grinding, money quest running, market controlling, profession, etc.

However, most of these methods are not accessible to everyone.
Not every players have such time, luck, patience, decision making, combat skill, etc. And some of them requires money to make money! This is not good.


So for those suffering people, I'd like to suggest this money making method called..

1. Avia Fishing
1-1. What is Avia Fishing?

First, Avia means 'Golden Avia', the rare mob in Corkus which spawns almost every places.


So simply, this is Golden Avia grinding, however, considering how my method looks, I decided to call it 'Fishing'. If you keep reading below, you'll see why I call in this way.



1-2. Why do you do Avia Fishing?

When Golden Avia is killed, it always drops 'Golden Avia Feather'.
By using Golden Avia Feather on Uth Shrine, you can grind 'Uth Rune'.
And at the Tol Altar, you can exchange your Uth Runes to 'Tol Rune'.

After 2.0 update, countless people are running raid or doing forgery chest, and to player those, player must use 'Tol Rune'. In conclusion, those people must grind or buy Tol Rune from market, thus you can keep selling Tol Rune (or just Golden Avia Feather), and make profit from it.

But you may ask, "This is same for any items! What's special on Avia Fishing?".

Unlike grinding for other items, Avia Fishing is very chill that you can go semi-AFK while doing this.
(Cheap and less skill dependant too!)
You'll get it one you read how this works.




1-3. How to do Avia Fishing?

The main part of this guide! Let's get started.


1-3-1. What do you need to bring/prepare?

First of all, Vindicator!


The fabled bracelet with Magnet major id. By equipping this, when mobs are dead and drop items around you, you can pull those items to you.
The Corkus terrain is pretty messy that it could be hard for you to find the dropped Feather. This item can help you with that. Quality of life!


Next, these two archer abilities, Grappling Hook / Stronger Hook!



"wtf yy, hook is shit ability! Why do you want to use this??"

Before calling it sucks, listen!
This is not just used for throwing yourself, but this can pull mobs! This is why I'm calling it "fishing".

This ability also works against Golden Avia, so you can pull them near you and kill it. In this way, you can find Feather easier than just killing it on midair. I'll explain more about this later on this thread.
If you don't have archer... eh not my business.... actually why would you use other class for this?

oh btw you can avoid fall damage by shooting it, even if you don't hit anything. Just in case e

Other abilities I recommend are Homing Shots and Call of the Hound.
Homing Shots make your arrow fly straight and chase enemy. Simply good.
Call of the Hound, this let you kill random mobs that distract you while Avia Fishing.



These enough, and with any build that has enough EHP, and any weapon that can do "sane damage", you're ready!


Wait, I forgot to say what you must NOT bring on Avia Fishing.

The very very evil id..

REFLECTION.

If you have this, when you take projectile damage, you reflect it to enemy. What's bad about it is if Golden Avia is killed by this, you will have trouble on finding where it's dropped. To make the process simple, just don't equip any items with this id.




1-3-2. Where do you do Avia Fishing?

Golden Avia can spawn anywhere. However, for the efficiency + chilling, this is what I reocmmend.


The tree over the robot miniquest, corner of the forest near Fallen Factory.

There are various reasons I recommend this spot.

First, this spot is connected to 3 Golden Avia spawn node. So you can encounter all those avias like this.


Second, Golden Avias are spawned in decent distance, where they can't pull/attack you but you can.


Third, other rare mobs can spawn around this spot.



These two mobs are the rare mobs that can spawn around this spot.
You can get good ingredients just from killing these, too!

(All those ingredients in this picture are from those. I'm sure Defective Circuits are commonly used for prof build.. that could be money!)


Last, the tree has so many hole where you're 99% safe to afk against those Pull/Push spells from rare mobs/key guardian. Good for chilling!



1-3-3. The process of Avia Fishing

All you need to do is, sit on the tree, and AFK until Avia spawns.
Yes, literally AFK. Just like fisherman. Keep your sound on, and wait until you hear barrage (arrow hitting ground) sound.



On this tree, Golden Avia can spawn in 3 directions like that in picture. I'll call them A, B, C.


If Avia is spawned on A, because it's too far that you can barely hear (you can sometimes) its barrage sound. Thus, please afk while looking at A direction, since you can see if it's spawned anyway.
The A node is too far that you can't pull from tree either, so move next to the hill, and pull the Avia to ground, kill it, then return to tree.

If Avia is spawned on B, move edge of the tree, shoot grappling hook "twice" to Avia while moving backwards. If done correctly, it'll be over the tree. Kill it.

If Avia is spawned on C, you're lucky. You can simply pull it from the middle of the tree.


Now let's talk about the additional events happening on this process.
First, other ranged mobs may annoy you in sound. If you hear the consistent arrow hitting sound effect, throw the Hound out of the tree. It'll chase the mob below tree and make it quiet. (Not too reliable so throw it to various direction, or just go down yourself and kill it.)

Second, rare mobs! They'll also make it noisy by spamming spell cast sound effect, and they can even make you fall from tree (if not standing inside hole). So if you noticed their presence, kill it! (If you know they're here but can't find it, it must be inside the cave behind this tree. Go check it.)




This is everything I can explain about Avia Fishing.
Now have your free time, while waiting for Golden Avia! You'll gain a lot of them over time.

After collecting all these feathers, you can just sell them to trade market.
However, I think people would rather buy Runes instead of Feathers, because they're raid-thirsty!


So in addition, let's talk about grinding Runes.

2. Rune Grinding
2-1. Uth Shrine choice

Uth Shrine is where you can use Golden Avia Feather. By activating it, you'll fight against 3 waves of mobs. At 3rd wave, the boss 'Uth Guardian' will spawn, and you can get 2~6 (usually 4~5) Uth Runes from killing it.

There are two Uth Shrines in Wynncraft : Aldorei, and Avos Territory.
Personally, I'd recommend using Aldorei one.



Not only it's easy to access it through juggler..
It's also near the bank!

2-2. Party grinding.. in chill way?

Uth Shrine can be beaten with multiple players, and it's better than doing it alone.
The boss in 3rd wave functions like other bosses, if multiple players have done enough damage, then drops will be shared to all those players. Which means 2~6 * (amount of players) of Uth Runes will be dropped if nothing goes wrong.

However, Uth Shrine contains too much variables, such as player doing unfair damage, boss abusing movement spells, separating party with push/pull spellls, and glitch!
So I thought about the way to suppress these issues, while keeping this in chill way! (as much as possible.. I guess)


* If your party is simply rushing/focusing with dps instead of doing long run, you don't need to read this part of guide, or just read it for fun. (or maybe at least read glitches part.)


2-2-1. What do you need for Chill - Uth Shrine party?

First, I'd like the party to be member of single Paladin Tank Warrior, rest with Shamans.
I can't really tell how the build must be made, but try to make low dps build so that it can be easier to control damage. (maybe matching shamans' build could be possible?)


The Warrior must have 'Strobelight'.



This item can make the enemies target on warrior with war scream. This is essential for controlling boss, which will be used for strategy below.


And of course, 'Vindicator' again!
Very good for picking up Uth Runes scattered on floor.


This is bit goofy, but I'd like Shamans to be able to wear 'Galloping Spurs'.



It's for resisting knockback by riding horse... when glitch happens. I'll explain about this below.


For ability, Warrior must have Mythril Skin.



It makes warrior immune to knockbacks, which is also necessary for controlling boss. (We're using strategy to deal against those knockback spam..)


And hmm.. Shamans should be Summoner, since they're going to do semi-AFK. (Not much as Avia Fishing but anyway it's still close to afk - throw totem, summon effigy, and stand still?)



2-2-2. Uth Shrine Party Rule

Uth Shrine often not accept your golden avia feather when doing it in party.
Here's the solution : which I call it "rule"

Step 1 : Every members of party must enter in /class
Step 2 : Only Feather Holder must come out from /class and activate shrine (this better be warrior)
Step 3 : After activating it, every other members can come out from /class.
Step 4 : Once boss is dead and every members have collected their Uth Runes, return to Step 1.


2-2-3. Chill Party Strategy

The plan is preventing boss from moving around too much, while keeping party members united.
To do that, you should keep boss near the wall.

When Uth Shrine is activated, every Shamans should stand inside hole at North side, then throw totem/summon effigy and stand still.


This hole will keep shamans "at least" safe from bunch of knockbacks. To keep the run clean, warrior's job is important. (Riding horse can make them vulnerable to ranged mobs.. unless shamans have good heal power or ranged mobs are dealt with.)


Uth Shrine has 5 different types of waves, presenting each elements : Alka, Thrunda, Nepta, Inferna, and Zephra. Each types of these waves require different strategy.


(Blue square is enchant table, where boss spawns. And green square with hole is where shaman stands)




For Alka Uth/Inferna Uth, there's nothing too special. You can just bring boss straight to the hole and kill it. (Don't forget that you can pull Boss with war scream!)
Inferna Uth may have bit high damage, so keep taunting and keep other members safe. And those flying minions spam push too much so be careful.


Thrunda Uth starts by spamming Push/Pull. So instead of moving straight to hole, move in this way. If boss is moving this way, other players will end up hitting wall from push/pull spam, instead of being thrown away to nowhere.


Zephra Uth has the charge-type movement, which doesn't change direction smoothly and only changing it on certain time. It makes it hard to put it in hole, thus you should lead it to very outside, then make it charge in from that side.


I'd say Nepta Uth is the worst case. It often starts with teleport spell, so lead the first teleport to far outside, then pull it to hole, just like how you did for Zephra. However, there's additional issue. Nepta often gets stuck inside the pillar. If that happens. kill it carefully, and wait until arena opens, so you can pick up runes thrown outside of arena.



2-3. Glitches you must deal with!

Uth Shrine is full of glitches that can cause harm to your gameplay. Please be aware of these glitches and do the proper actions for each cases.


- If the arena is opened before all waves are over, let your party ride horse with galloping spurs and move to this wall at the South Side, then throw totem.



This glitch make players vulnerable to knockback spam, and bosses can be thrown away outside of the arena. To not make a loss of feather, lead the boss to here and kill it.


- If you have returned from /class but unable to put feather, change server.
This means someone else is near the Shrine. Rather change server than waiting them to leave.


- Right click carefully when you're putting feather.
Spamming will make you waste your feather.





After grinding Uth Runes, you can convert them to Tol Runes in Tol Altar in Silent Expanse.
(Never use the other altar in Sky Island, it's scam!)



And finally, all you have to do is selling them!
I have no skill on economy, so I'll leave it to you. Good luck!



Oh btw if you ask how much I've made from this...



About 50 stacks.

 

how much did it take you to farm whole pouch of feathers?

 

By turning on the Wynncraft almost 8~10 hours everyday, about 2 stacks per day. (I grinded about 36 stacks of feathers, bit more than pouch cah hold)

Twice faster by using alt, 4 stscks per day

 

What about feathers?

 

Each Uth Shrine run takes around a minute
