The player is stupid and dumb

Theorick's ice is KNOWN to freeze (literally) corruption in it's tracks. The player can use UNBREAKABLE ICE MAKING STAFF. Just... go into the roots of corruption and freeze that nether portallike it's the south pole. Problem mostly solved. How's it gonna spread without the root?

Seriously did the tree in the tutorial fall on the player's head and give them incurable brain damage? Not to mention that all they know is killing (Shadow of the Beast and all other quests), but the player literally obtains the fucking staff of TRUE ICE and can USE IT

 

Something something Theorick's ice isn't really ice so it wouldn't work

 

but that random-magic-lava in ice cave melts Theorick's ice (Frost Bite quest)

Nether hot things would be at least stronger than that

 

This is not news, I already knew I was stupid.

 

thats exactly what theorick thought before dying 3 minutes later

 

Not to mention how aledar dies to an injury when half the playerbase will have access to either heal pots or the heal spell during that moment.
And when we believed that guy who got us to commit multiple acts of larceny by faking a cold.
And we don't talk about what happened on Rooster Island.

Gotta love how one of the most common enemies in Gylia and CotL are bandits, which are just normal humans, and the average player kills hundreds of them each playthrough...

 

How do we know they're humans though
What if it's like a Skyraiders situation

 

Also how they still think banditry's a good idea when literally 90% of the people who travel through that region are experienced soldiers is beyond me. You'd think they would have realised that being a bandit is really dangerous by now.

I don't believe so, he was killed by the Dogun Chieftain after Garaheth was slain.
I definitely did not check the wiki to confirm this

 

that was Axelus, from the Dwarves & Doguns questline. Aledar is from the Silent Expanse questline, and died because he sacrificed his soul in order to open the gate to the Eldritch Outlook.

 

I mean, we already know we are extremely dumb... except not because of this. We kidnap, get kidnapped, sign up for some definitely safe and not sus "expeditions", return to school, die, commit way too many crimes, war crimes... and post the original reason for our stupidity

Also I had similar thoughts, like for example why make some staff of true ice if i there already is theorick's staff in nessak for free

 

Dragon Ice > Theorick Ice?

Literally had to go rip the fire out of a fully grown dragon’s stomach just to melt through the ice of Freezing Heights in The Breaking Point, which is a much higher standard than “hee-hoo lava bucket go drip” for Theorick’s chilled water

 

But half the time it doesn't work...
