    You probably had kept it from the 1.20 version of Hunger of Gerts, and 2.0 broke it. Yes you are allowed to keep it as a legacy item.

    nope, it just appeared in my inventory
    maybe someone dropped it on me and i didn't notice

    iirc you can keep it but ur not allowed to sell it for emeralds
